SF Hardcore is up on the PTR to test. You can hit a checkbox to enable it upon creating your character.
You can deactivate it ingame but will not be able to ever activate it again.
You have a permanent buff on yourself “Self-Found Adventurer: Unable to trade, use the auction house, or send and receive most mail”
In other words trial account from retail posed as special game mode 
I’m going to check this out now… this was on of the questions I was asking earlier.
hey Nice you’re right you must create a new chara and check the self found mode… while entering the world… I do get 2 buff type icons… one saying self found with the other says, soul of iron.
