Just saw a mage activate precog by using counterspell on a warriors spell reflection. Thats disgusting, remove this. That means any ranged kick can do the same
In my opinion thats a skillful play. Thats the things which makes PvP actually amazing. Reminds me how at some point some priests started using shadow word death to break cc, which is standard gameplay by now.
He countered the warrior gamewise. Same thing as using a throw away spell against darc sim. Or breaking teammates Cc with aoe dots.
The mage thought ahaed and got an advantage.
Its an abuse. Not a skilful play. SWD needs to be timed, this is just bad.
Abuse would be an actual bug. This isnt a bug. He turns the warriors CD against him.
You can MC and BoP enemies to screw their paladin. You can MC and ray of hope enemies so they explode randomly or grip MCed enemies to narnia, why not spellreflect kick yourself to get precog. If hes to slow he wastes counterspell and gets nothing out of it, maybe his mates removed reflect randomly. Skillfull play.
its nothing new, its being smart.
It’s an exploit. Just like half the mages hidden mechanics. But because its a mage blizzard always tends to look the other way. Invisible ring of frost, blinking from starting path of death grip, blinking out of spear of bastion etc
It’s actually not an exploit by definition, because it logically works as it should.
Reflect does reflect spells back to the caster. And CS is a kick where the mage kicks himself, and missing a kick on yourself activates precog
Clever use of game mechanic
I’s’ not an exploit lol. Spell reflect is working as intended.
If a warrior blindly puts up spell reflect when no one is casting that’s their issue.
Not really sure if “blindly” or timed spell ref would matter, a skilled player will stop cast and use the precog. An ele shaman would be more problematic for the same thing. Now imagine enhancement with the buffs coming self procing precog, that would be on another level…
Maybe I didn’t explain that too well. It is often I see warriors just pressing spell reflect randomly in hopes that someone will hit them with something juicy. If they do this, they sort of deserve to get played by a mage.
But yeah, you would stop casting if you saw a warrior put up spell reflect mid cast, then this would be a badly timed spell reflect.
It’s not an abuse and it’s not a skillful play. It makes Warrior press Spell Reflect in reaction to something going on and that’s how the best warriors do. Not just randomly pressing Spell Reflect to avoid another damage spell. High end warriors usually press it mid cast when they predict they are going to get CCed. For example if they expect to get Cloned they press it at the end of the Clone cast.
Good players will always remove Spell Reflect with any spell and using it for getting precog isn’t always worth it because Mage/Lock kicks are really long ones and you can even kill somebody thanks to it. Kicks are more and more important since CC got nerfed.
I’d say it’s a skill issue of a Warrior who wastes his Spell Reflect and needs to step up his game. Getting precog with your own Kick is a trade.
Nice, 1 less kick for your healer or caster mate.
Fairly certain that it is or at the very least unintentional gameplay that happens due to coding not accounting for it. Something can be skillful while also clearly being unintended and in some cases too strong for it to remain as is.
It’s likely among those things that will be patched out at some point.
It’s a fair request to change Precog to proc when it’s enemy only, it would also match the exact description of the precog gem tooltip
How is it worse that a mage uses his kick to precog himself into reflect, comapred to warriors being able to use reflect into a shamans static totem to run out of it? These kinds of outplays are great when you pull them off, since you get rewarded for just going full m+ zug mode
It’s absolutely fair and teaches people not to use their buttons carelessly without thinking.
Precog should just autoactivate after people use 3 CCs to stop you from casting in a row and on failed kicks. It’s impossible to play a caster if you’re not a mage.
Get a solo shuffle pop:
Rogue, DK & warrior.
And a spriest.
Spriest dealing like 25% of the damage of the others because he can’t cast.
Loses 6 rounds.
Another pop:
2x DKs & 1 warrior.
And a warlock.
He couldn’t cast either. Port gave him a few seconds of people not hitting him but he couldn’t get any damage out.
Loses 6 rounds. On my team because I went oom, on enemy healers team because he went oom.
Then another game:
2x DKs & 1 rogue.
And a spriest.
Well, 0-6 for the spriest. Couldn’t get any damage out.
Another game:
2x warriors & 1 dk.
And a warlock.
He couldn’t get any damage out either. Dies when we go oom every round. 0-6.
No. Beam doesn’t get reflected. Hunters aren’t even spells.
Ret pala when he sees a skillful play:
