Leveling in WotLK is too damn slow, I would like to play more classes, but getting to 80 is too much of a chore. Maybe add an NPC that gives opt-in exp buff if you want to level fast and have lvl 80 character, if you want to explore you can play with normal exp levels.
Another option would be a special quest that rewarded like 5 levels after clearing whole zone doing all non dungeon quests, that would allow you to do whole zone instead of leaving it half finished as would happen with exp boosts.
When WotLK was new slow leveling was ok, different times - less games to play more time, but now with work and stuff I dont have enought time to level all the characters I want to play in the interesting stuff. Doing the scenic route my mage is 6 days old and still not lvl 80
If you are concerned about player reaction donate all you get from boosts to charity, doubt many would be against that and Blizzard would get some positive press.
Another day another person who wants to speed level their way through a 12-year-old MMO, when the current version of the game gives him everything he wants.
Another day another person who ‘doesn’t have time to play’, and demends that the game be super-streamlined to fit in which his own schedule rather than accepting that if he ‘doesn’t have time’ to play this 12-year-old MMO there’s a sparking new, 2022 version just waiting for him and those like him that’s as fast and streamlined as he could wish.
Another day another person who ‘doesn’t have time to level’, but I’m sure somehow finds time to raid.
Another day, another lazy slob who can’t be bothered to play the game properly, and who complains that he has gone from one to 80 in ‘6 days’. Sheesh.
It’s dungeons, raids and PvP(lol). Leveling shouldn’t be the end content new players expirience.
I have 7 characters on lvl 80 atm. I got all the classes to 70 simply by dungeon boosting back in TBC before they removed it, and a few more during the prepatch 50% exp bonus.
Leveling with 50% exp bonus felt just right, it was smooth and not too long, they should have made it like that for lvl 1-68 or 70. You can keep a good pace even if you are a new player, with level taking 40ish mins on average, getting new spells every 2 levels to make it a bit more interesting .
Don’t be a gatekeeping elitist. Have some understanding for new players that want to get into the game.
I’m as far from an elitist as it’s possible to get, you couldn’t get more casual than I, but that’s kind of the point.
This isn’t personal. You and a squillion others keep making these posts calling for the game to be speeded up, and frankly it’s heatbreaking.
Have some understanding for new players that want to get into the game
Are you claiming that you’re a new player? Completely new to WoW? That directly contradicts your claims that: ‘slow levelling was Ok when WotLK was new’. If you’ve never played it before, how do you know?
They are like Scourge or the burning legion their numbers are endless just as their complains, they keep invading classic realms with hopes to submit us to their ideas how classic should have been played, long time ago I used to be a paladin I used to purge them when they were called Craptaclysm lovers now as death knight I shall once again defend classic realms from the so called burning legion of retail andies.
Retail players - slow lvling to reach lvl 80 to do endgame content? No
Also retail players - Grinding M+ dungs and dailies + Torghast every week to even being able to do endgame content? REAAAL STUFF
My dear friend, gems can be bought and easily obtained even if you dont play for one week, in retail if you dont play one week you are already behind and how are classic players minmaxing more? To reach max lvl actually takes more effort than minmaxing in retail where you are max lvl in 2 days minmaxers are like this guy whining on this forum that without exp boosts its too hard for them to minmax.
