Sell me pvp hunter for tbc classic

Never played that version of the game, but hunter looks unusually clunky (melee only traps etc.). Is it okay at least damage-wise?
Can’t decide between rogue and hunter. Want to play both pve and pvp.

You lose to most classes in damage and burst. To win you need to abuse slows, roots and cc to keep enemies away from you (yes even casters as you will lose the damage race).

However you can win most matchups with slowly mana burning enemies, using pet to stop them from drinking while avoiding damage.

Kinda countered by rdruid meta which is likely to be the norm in TBC Classic though. :joy:

At least not every healer has a magic dispel in TBC, which is nice for traps.

Viper Sting was the play back then. You play with a disc and a druid, iirc Hydra, Beasteh and Cherez were the top team back in the day in EU.

There was a lot of LOOOOOONG games, hunter then is all about draining mana along with priest or slowly draining solo with druid in 2v2. Hunter won’t really work with any other specs though. Disc and Resto Druid is your play mostly. Kite and livelord to drain.

Scorpid pet kinda helps with that, since its stacking poison can cover Viper. Is still somewhat uphill though, especially since a Druid can Hibernate/Root the pet super easily.

Mm~ yeah, but it doesn’t help much though, since rdruids can use a dispel poison that dispels several times over its duration xD It’s like a single target poison cleansing totem, don’t remember how many seconds between each tick that it dispels though. Anyway, point is that the whole viper sting playstyle isn’t gonna be as effective in a rdruid meta than it used to be back then when there was a bit more variety. I mean, we’ve all seen how tryhard Classic players can be.

Ok hear me out, mace stun hunter. You use a bow, that shoots maces.

But also people seem to be ignoring the fact that KFC dominated S4 TBC ladder. So on a serious note, there’s that.
