As title says im curious to know if this is still a thing, back in MoP i was selling raid ID for ICC or Ulduar with only the last boss up for the mount drop for gold.
If yes there are also people interested in buying for gold a lockout of the current raid?
I personally haven’t seen it happen for a good few years now. Think WoD raids were the last lockouts I remember.
The issue is WoD raids (and earlier expansions) are a joke to solo but Mythic Legion raids are hard, so buying that lock out is kind of pointless as you couldn’t solo whats left.
Thats not what i meant. There was some cheese with lockouts for certain bosses that usually would have put you on safe aswell but the way it was done didnt touch your own lockout.
No you can not because once the boss is killed the ID is now dead even if you leave the group .
Unlike ulduar for example when you leave the group Yogg will still be alive for you .
Its to stop Mythic IDs from being abused .
Mythic is a fixed ID, once the boss has been killed it’s dead in that ID forever. So it’s only available once.
Heroic and Normal can be reactivated weekly generally speaking but it has got more complicated over the years.
Instance-based Lockout
You can only kill a boss once per lockout. Applies to:
All WoW Classic raids
All Mythic difficulty raids
All raids from Molten Core through Sunwell Plateau
All Heroic difficulty raids of Wrath of the Lich King through Throne of Thunder of Mists of Pandaria.
Progress is tied to a fixed instance ID. Once tied to an instance ID, you may not enter any other versions of that raid of that difficulty until your raid lock resets.
If other players complete that instance while you are absent, the instance will be empty for you as well, because progress is tied to the instance, and not your character.
For that week unless someone extend that raid, but I can clear up to 9/10 give that lookout to another person for that week and the week after on reset day i have another fresh ID
That mythic ID is gone after you’ve sold it. It will never be useable again unless the person who bought it failed to kill the boss. It does not become a fresh lockout unless you start a new raid (after reset) and reclear to 9/10.
You will be able to sell a new one on reset if you start a new raid and clear to 9/10 again. Then providing no one else in your group carries on and kill Sire, that ID will be free to be sold. But as soon as someone kills sire, the lockout is gone. That ID is finished.
The amount of people even interested in buying such a lockout would be extremely limited. At best you could sell it to some forsaken guild that wants to skip slg and go Denathrius. For boosters etc buying such a lockout would be of no interest.
Can just extend if its an issue in reclearing. Or keep killing sludgefist for the reclear if you decided to tone down raid days after it died.
Doubtful a guild wants to spend god knows how much for a lockout they could go and get themself.
Not saying that wont be the case but the amount of guilds wanting that are most certainly very limited. Especially with it being dodgy as you could just go and sell the lockouts to more guilds than one. Something they cant be sure about.
