The GCD changes are just irritating. The best arguments for it boil down to ‘I can adapt to it’ or something about macros that doesn’t apply to most specs.
Yeah, you can adapt to all kinds of bad or silly changes to the game, that’s not really an argument to make them.
The reason most people don’t really care about it enough to complain is probably because most of the playerbase aren’t really affected by it. The majority of players are casuals so it’s not really going to affect how they play at all.
Could be referring to the future? Or the prepatch?
IDK what to tell you dude, fairly confident in what I said in regards to that, though I’m not infallible so if I’m shown to be wrong I’ll happily admit it.
I just found an interview with Ion’s explanatios why we got this GCD changes and they seem perfectly valid to me :
" When a player chooses an offensive cooldown as a talent, they currently just macro it into their single button press. It turns that talent choice into something that doesn’t actually affect the player, only their damage numbers. "
" “From an overall class balance perspective across all facets of the game, [we were] trying to pull back the importance and power of multiple, stacked cooldowns,” he explained. “Especially in a world where you can talent into new ones. It was such a no-brainer choice that they manipulatively scaled with each other, and the damage you did during your cooldown window was so dominant compared to what you were doing the entire rest of the time. "
Doesn’t really make much sense at all. Apotheosis is on GCD. As is the tank paladin heal and defensives and a lot of other abilities. It doesn’t really add upp to the claim it’s about wanting to tune down multiple, stacked cooldowns when so many abilities are on GCD that shouldn’t be if that’s what they were aiming to fix. How do you even stack apotheosis or the paladin heal?
yeah you might have to wait a while at times, but in my own experience, it aint that bad as some say, ok I am not gona say all classes are fine, becuse I have not tried all yet, but at same time I can understand the reasons behind the GCD and that is to make game slower paced and more back to how it was back in vanilla and tbc, you se what I started to feel all the way from cata and up, was that wow started to become an hack and slash game where as some said was that you macroed your skills and hit like what 2 buttons or so, now you have to time it somewhat instead.
I like the way you hate everyone and everything so much that you look for any argument going. Even when you end up looking ignorant and can’t understand I’m teasing OP for a poll he made that got proxy attacked.
I even pointed it out to OP on that thread.
But you’re just so ignorant you would rather ignore all that.
I’m not a fan of the GCD or the way classes are pruned. However the GCD is there for a reason and that is to prevent some classes being reduced to a faceroll one button macro.
The only way to see the GCD removed to make sure that complicated rotations have to be performed manually and not as one button macros.
Classic up to the day before BFA had the same GCD, for 14 years the GCD was fine.
Let that sink in and I don’t mean just you here, but for 14 YEARS the GCD was barely a notable mention other than thank god it’s not slower like some other games.
And you know this how? Are you one of these players? Because looking at the evidence, it seems I’m playing at a higher level than you, so I should be noticing it more right? No.
How well you play means nothing. It’s the least noticeable change of BfA because the abilities fit into the flow of a rotation just the same as before, if not better, because now there is actual feedback if it’s activated.
Same with defensives, and once again, it’s more engaging anyways because now you’re not just acting on brainless reflex, but actually having to plan out the possibility of needing those things, knowing what abilities are coming up and preparing for them.
I dont hate Deja (Barelyheals) i think they harsh but fair and blunt bit like me .
Sure he can be annoying so can i and so can you Mori but is it worth serveing a ban over xmas with using the Id word ?
Me and Dottie can tell you first hand its a banable word .
Just move on and the OP has been rude all day btw hence his poll being messed with.
Mechanically it is NO different pressing ‘Shadow Bolt’ wait for GCD, pressing “Unstable Affliction” wait for GCD, pressing “Agony” wait for GCD.
The larger point here being you constantly have this, whereas activating a 2-minute CD happens, well, every 2 minutes or so.
“The game is now completely ruined” is over-reaching, just a little, don’t you think? Which is precisely the kind of language people use with this change.
Yea, I do actually contend it’s degenerate gameplay to have these long cooldowns be relegated to macros to the point they may as well not exist. It’s a visual game in which the player should ‘feel’ using abilities via visual queues, not a damn spreadsheet. Oh I know that’s how many raiders like to play, but that isn’t actually what the game is-- and it most certainly shouldn’t because that mentality conflicts hideously with a fantasy role-playing game.
Nothing near like they are in the current form and it worked different due to having 3 ranks of spells if you recall .
Fireball 1
Fireball 2
Fireball 3
Down ranking was a thing for mana and GCD please dont confuse the two.
