Does it matter what Normal server you roll on except for Guilds and AH?
Do you see all other servers while out questing in quieter zones so that it doesn’t matter if I choose a server with 100k or 2k I will still see the same number of players in the wild?
I’m trying to decide if I should choose a really high pop realm and put up with any lag or queues or pick a more medium pop one or even the new players one.
I like looking for rares and I’m concerned I might not see any if it’s too busy.
War Mode on or off? War Mode is dominated by Horde everywhere nearly all the time except for RP realms, and much more mixed-realm.
War Mode off? If you are on one of the mega-realms, the zones will still be dominated by your own realm. I have Horde alts on Draenor, and every time I go out to do WQ without WM, not only are the zones much fuller, but I see predominantly Draenor Horde. Similarly with my Alliance character on Silvermoon.
My main characters are on a Medium realm - called Medium-High now -and the zones are much quieter. On Draenor, I almost never do a WQ alone; there are always others bashing at the mob. On my Medium realm, it’s usually alone. On my RP, it’s almost always alone, which is not always handy for the biggest mobs in Uldum, but my RP char is on the Earthen Ring connection rather than AD, which may make a difference.
Also never forget that Blizzard can and do change the coalescences - which realms preferentially get lumped together - as and when they want.
Ah, so no clear answer, why does it have to be so confusing?
I’m going Horde and am looking at the top 3, Kazzak, Draenor, Tarren Mill/Dentarg or Doomhammer/Turalyon as it’s the recommended new player server and I’m thinking there might be more new players/levelling players there.
I will only be playing with warmode off.
Like I said my concerns are that if I’m on a really high pop server then all rares will be camped but the low or medium pop servers probably have a lower life span in the long run.
I’m leaning towards Doomhammer or Tarren Mill I think.
