I know it’s pretty common to hear and or read but what’s blizzards stance typically to a hardcore server crash with characters dying? My Character ’ Vanduhage ’ Mage - died
Obviously it’s not fair, obviously blizz’s fault objectively - what can we do other than just not play again?

Generally they will not restore toons. Thought, they may on their own discretion due circumstances do rollbacks as we’ve seen in the past.
This is usually noticed several days to weeks after the fact once the dust settles and a policy is formed on where the cutoff point is.
I don’t want to think it’s just a streamer privilege for fairness. Especially in a circumstance where a player can’t do ANYTHING

Also happened to me and my brother. 57 Dead after 7 days play time from Blizzard Outtage.

Please revive the characters who died that night due to the system failture.

Hi all, just an update on this. With a support ticket Blizzard will not revive my character as Support are not allowed to revive any characters at any time. However, I decided to read the ToS when you create a new character.
When creating a character, ToS does say and I quote “that your a character’s death is permanent for whatever reason. This includes disconnections, lag, server outages, gameplay bugs, or any other reason.”
So in short, It’s a no. I suppose even if it were a DDOS attack, that would also fall under " any other reason" in which case it’s purely Blizzard’s discretion how they would deem it.
I don’t know how big the HC community is but I think the revive option is purely a streamer privilege. We’ve had not Blue post regarding the “Outage” to confirm anything, nor any inclination if any Blues are even reading this Forum.
Seems everything is treated as a “People will forget it even happened in a few days, it’ll pass” attitude, or at least, that’s my perception.

That is why we must not seattle with posting on the forums so they understand that, it should be a ddos protection or some sort in the game. It says its permanent but i feel like the whole community is against dying to server issues and they should fix that. But lets just wait and see and keep posting. just dont transfer the char to era servers then you wont get them back. in another post on the forum it says they can ressurect players due to ddos but if u transfer them it wont be ressurected. Just hope it wanst just streamer bennefit and they will do something this time aswell.

idk how many times ive said it this week BUT theyve stated last time it happened that customer service should NOT be contacted as they can NOT help
Yes i know as the support team said it, wasnt aware of that untill they said it and went on the forums and it was a post there that said it
The gms cant help on this issue. They just dont have the rights for it.
The dev team can however help. But they dont read tickets.
We had a gm answering our ticket, that we should make forum posts as the devs notice whats happening there every now and then.
