Server crashed, players died

In 19 years I have never died on UC elevators. What is this bug coz I see half a dozen die today there?

Hi all

Well, I had a wonderfull answer to my ticket regarding the death of my character following the unplanned server crash : “you agreed wih it in the terms” followed by a gentle “I can suggest you voice your opinions in our forums”, probably hoping that we either get bored and drop the matter.

I guess that it’s a bit too much asking for a stable realm or support when service failed.
I know FreeToPlay game with better user support …

Thats a legitimate response to not wanting to play this gamemode, since the game has rough edges.

This was to be expected. You cannot always have someone carrying you by the hand each time something happens.

People did accept to play by the rule, so resurrection shouldn’t be on the table.
HOWEVER, Blizzard should also REALLY makes an effort so problems on their end don’t kill player.
Teleporting everyone at their hearthstone point after a crash shouldn’t be impossible to avoid such cases.

Cue people grumbling about being move back to hearth location.

So, how did you approached it? Rushing to run onto it the last second before it depatured?

Or waited till it reaches your position on top +1second then stepping into middle of it standing and leaving it 1 sec after it got to the bottom?

You are right about this. It is a shame tbh. I come from a free private serverver that when there is a disconect or something on your end you will be dead for sure but if it is on server side they do a 5 min rollback :turtle:

The fact is that they knew about the issue and the solution was not implemented from the start. That makes me think it will stay the same for a long time. They don’t care.

Well here it is xD I will still play their games because i grew with it but cmon I don’t understand why ppl defend Blizzard with this. Its a nonsense.

HARDCORE !=

If I dc’ed in a cave, or anyplace with mobs respawning around me, I’d probably ask a friend/group/guildmates to go clear the area before I log in again. Just seems like common sense to me. /shrug

I entered when the doors were open, just like anyone would do when using an elevator.

Top 3 reasons ppl die in ‘hardcore’:

  1. disconnects
  2. bugs
  3. falldamage

Nothing to do with hardcore gaming imo.

We’re paying this company to think like that.

happy to see that i’m not the only one bothered by the lack of answer or support from blizzard.

by the way, is it me or Stitches is once more offline ?
Crash or planned ?

Was just showing as Offline for me, a couple of attempts to reconnect later and I’m back in the queue.

Maybe it’s a secret attempt at encouraging people to roll Nek’rosh.

More blood for the blood gods!

Just disconnected while attacking bear. I m dead. I ll not come back

Nope. You can die even without lags on any elevator like that. You wait till it goes away and comes back. 1 second after it fully stopped you enter the platform. You stand in the middle of a platform and leave it only 1 second after it fully stopped at the destination. Now wall hugging to run off faster, slipping thought textures and falling to your character death.

Anyway there is sewers entrance in Undercity.

well, it doesn’t matter… like when in a cave you kill the mobs gradually in ie 3-4 minutes but when you are near the end of the cave, they ALL suddenly respawn at the same time, in front of you and behind you and it’s over, I’ve never seen anything like that in another game.
I must have forgotten how it worked badly many years ago, because back then such poorly programmed things could have been tolerated as the consequences were not irreversible but not today in this game.

Jagarde i’ve read your posts towards Kailea what utter rubbish, if blizz’s servers go down for any reason they should hold their hands up - people are playing HC just to loose all their hard work on server issue, yes if they die fair & square then ofc the player should except this - blizz need to police this issue or they will loose many many customers, i alone have come back to play WOW classic after many years of non play due to WOW loosing its way if i died due to server failure and they didn’t roll back i’d quit again i am sure there are many many people like me, i’ve not actually read the terms and conditions does it actually say when we agree that a blizz server goes down and we die we will not be allowed to be rolled back? if it does then anybody who agree’s to that knowingly is a mug and are being treated like mugs by Blizz!
