Greetings, before i start to write too much let me just state outright that if you dont want to read the way i type , do not , sorry for being like that but all the comments in the world do not change how i write, if you proceed to read this you choose to do so.
Now to the subject at hand, i have played world of warcraft for many years, sadly ever since cross realm was invented it became an exscuse for Blizzard to not do anything about the server balance because everything that is in instanced content, dungeons, raids, pvp can be done across realms, however this have caused so much of an imbalance that most realms these days consist of either one or the other faction exsculsively, so i am wondering why this is not being fixed, and no its not irellevant because there is content to do outside of instanced content, and the social aspect of world of warcraft dies/is dead because of that , so Blizzard, are you ever going to fix the realm imbalances since its actually something that matters, the entire faction war that used to be between Horde and Alliance is dead because of the imbalance, if there is no enemy to face then its a pretty onesided battle, also the world is dead for one faction outside of instanced content on more and more realms and that i think is a massive issue that you really ought to do something about, so are you going to fix your game or is it going to die out of your refusal to acknowledge the issue?. I made this post because i simply wanted to try to hear what blizzard have to say about this subject if anything. thank you for reading through this slugfest of text, i know that my writing is bad, but i hope the message gets across regardless.
Sorry cant read that.
Sadly I don’t think Blizzard can do anything about this, the players choose their realms and their faction, it’s not up to Blizzard. The only thing they can do is merge mostly Horde realms with mostly Alliance realms, but that only works for low population realms. For high population realms there are technical limitations, the hardware can only get so good and support so many thousands of players, so nothing can be done for those.
Take for example my realm, Twisting Nether, at the moment I’m playing Alliance on here where population is 99.64% Horde and 0.36% Alliance, it’s quite the funny experience, barely anyone in Trade chat, Stormwind is completely deserted (literally, not one person) usually unless people from Sylvanas get phased in. But there are just so many people on Twisting Nether that they cannot merge it with another realm, the hardware wouldn’t be able to take that.
They can’t fix faction imbalance so that’s why they’re pretty much removing those limitations.

Blizzard have never dealt with faction balance on realms. Most will migrate towards a realm with the majority of their own faction.
Things are slowly becoming less and less relevant when it comes to faction. We have cross faction activities for PuGs and they are working on cross faction guilds. It should go a step further and make it so cross faction LFD and LFR work too. It would relieve some of the queue issues for Alliance.
Traditionally you wanted more players of your own faction because it gave you a better selection/availability of guilds/players to recruit.
We’ve been trying to even just get a response from blizz to the situation for years now in this thread Dead servers MEGATHREAD - Ghostlands/Dragonblights plea to Blizzard - Community / General Discussion - World of Warcraft Forums so good luck
