Server population history over the years

Hey guys with Blizzard starting to connect more realms again it made me think of the different server’s history and how they have decreased/increased over the years. The server I started on back in TBC was Balnazzar I remember it used to be a high and sometimes full pop server and remained so until Cata where the population for some reason started to decrease very quickly to the point the server was low pop in MOP until it got connected to 9 other servers at the end of MOP and is now thankfully a high pop server again. How did you guys’ server population evolve over the years?

They removed the data because it incriminates/d them in the horrific handling of faction imbalance over the years.

You can’t hide the truth. We know you butchered wow (by destroying one faction you destroyed the game) due to your red craze

The tale of the Titanic pretty much sums it up.

I think they hide the data due to subscription losses and they don’t want people to know that because that would make more people leave the game.
WoD was the begining, from 8-9 mill it went to 5. They had a rise in Legion and now i don’t think they have more than 3 mill global (all regions).
BFA totally ruined WoW and by the looks of it, Shadowlands will be the “nail in the coffin”.
They still don’t want to give up to the “soft timers” idea for the Tower and now they want to lock your char on the covenant you have chosen. If Ion and his team continues with their stubbornness, they will kill the game.

I don’t think people stop paying sub if there seen 5 mil subs total. They stop paying because game not worth.

Dunno what my server started life as and can’t remember what it was like 10 years when I first created my character but it was low pop when I first really got into playing 5 years ago and changed to medium pop a month or so ago :woman_shrugging:

Its also always been more alliance than horde

I started playing on Earthen Ring - Alliance. I remember it was a lively realm and I loved playing there and made a lot of friends.

I don’t know why individual servers started to die but it is sad when they do :frowning:

I moved to Draenor - Horde at end of TBC and as we all know Draenor can still be classed as thriving

Used to be high pop. Now it’s been “new players” for quite a long while. That probably says enough

they destroyed Horde?

Pshhhh obviously

No? Red fan bois devs?
