Hi,
I was talking to a guildie hyped about P2, discussing that P2 launch will be even higher than SoD P1.
That implies more queues, and more disaster on servers. Now, I know that every man of culture do know that it’s a good habit to be loged hours before the launch, since it’s speculated that P2 will be “activated” in-game, rather than reseteing servers and adding it the old fashion way.
Now, we were discussing about how queues would be in Living flame, and we did several speculations regarding that topic.
Our suppositions were that in Living Flame EU, in the best case scenario, the server queue would be of a 10% of the full active player base (in case that every account that has a character in Living Flame is planning to play at launch time, I know it’s not gonna happen tho); that being said, it means that the lowest expected queue would be of 13k players, while we’d have aprox 500 players per layer per zone at the same time. Crazy, huh.
Numbers arent strictly correct, they carry alot of errors and suppositions, but now I question:
How many players can play in a server without triggering a queue?
How many players can play in a single layer?
Are servers only having 10 layers at max or they can create N (undefined) layers?
Having a 13k queue is not fun, we’ve seen worse in other times tho; but being more realistic, and taking some supositions as correct and less optimistic, I expect queues to be of 20k+ players. Good luck lol.
That’s some info that I share here, I’d be glad if somebody could respond my questions and I’d like to discuss about other calculations, since I did them only with windows calculator and some Ironforgepro data, plus several assumptions.
Cheers!
