I currently play Horde and LOVE world PvP. But 80% of the players I encounter are Horde.
I’m sure there are servers that have a heavier Alliance population, but I’m struggling to find any modern, upto-date data covering this.
Can anyone confirm an EU server that has more Alliance than Horde?
There are no realms in War Mode WPvP. Only wm shards. You are either in a normal wm shard or a role play wm shard depending on your realm type.
Interesting, so does that mean the game is simply VERY Horde heavy? I saw 9 players today while questing with my friend, all of which were Horde…
That is one of the reasons I turned WM off my mage again (I play Alliance). I generally like the idea of WM but whenever I’m going to an assault I find it almost impossible to get it done within a reasonable amount of time, especially when a daily quest involves killing 3 rares. Too often I find myself being swarmed by horde. Even when I didn’t play alone we were always outnumbered so I simply stopped enabling WM. And I know a few other guildies did the same.
I only have WM on on my Blood DK. Horde seem to be less inclined to attack someone who will take forever to be killed. But still I see far more Horde players than Alliance with WM on.

if you want more alliance in warmode check out the RP shards, they outnumber us like 5:1 yet STILL get the bonus etc… great work blizz. really dropped the ball on that one

it is true, i play only on RP realms (both side) and more Alliance then horde in WM on RP shards, so you can kill more and get ganked more ^^
Yeah RP shards are overpopulated and we even have several world pvp guilds popping up as alliance on RP WM shards are hilariously fun to gank. Add me on MilanGrujic#1256 if you’re interested in, lets say, joining mass rogue ganks (of 12+ rogues) on Stormwind or other open world zones.
That’s interesting. So if i roll alliance on any RP server then sharding works only with all other RP servers?
Is there any difference in warmode if i choose fairly balanced RP realm (like DefiasBrotherhood) over highly alliance dominated (Argent Dawn)?
exactly, making an ally character on any RP server will put you in the RP shards, giving you the warmode bonus aswell as being the dominant faction on the shards (basically easymode) (RP is separate to normal shards) the only way someone from a normal shard can phase in is to join a group with someone from the RP shard
I can testify that War Mode is boring on RP shards as Alliance. I moved to a normal realm, and War Mode so much better for Alliance on normal shards. The problem on RP was no Horde (exaggeration) rather than being dominant… you can’t dominate nothing. Now when I end up on an RP shard because of x-realm group, it’s very noticeably quiet, and a hassle to shunt our group onto a ‘proper’ normal shard.
yeah i very rarely see any other horde in warmode on RP shards, problem is i like both aspects of the game… RP servers feel more alive in cities with people RPing around you, but i also love pvp, but its no fun when alliance outnumber you like 5:1 >_<
5:0 even worse hehe. I maybe ended up on single faction shards some of the time.
