Server question/language barrier

Hello everyone on the forums.
Today i was doing a +2 de other side on a alt of mine and we had a russian guy or girl idk in the group.
while we were talking and sometimes also to our healer aka the russian…
He told us to speak russian and we told him we do not speak russian and he did not speak english… he told us this in some very bad english.

So he got told to go play on a russian server then which brings me to my question:
Do people from russian servers get mixed with our english servers?
because if so blizzard needs to seperate them asap language barriers can become a point of frustration and people can not co-operate with each other if they can not understand each other.

EDIT: after a litlle while of talking some people seem to misunderstood something so i will edit this one to explain a little bit more. My intention here is not to be racist or anything like that… I am just wondering why certain people who speak only 1 langauge join groups that speak a different language then their own. EVERYONE who knows 2 langauges or more should always talk to each other and learn about each others cultures if they so desire too…

Yes and this is EU only countries speaking English are UK and Ireland.
Many people speak their native only or they prefer it.
You can’t use English wow while playing on Russian realms.

Then don’t group up with them?

Why just Russians, most of Europe doesn’t speak English. Why not just have a UK server?

It happens at times with all languages. Sometimes even with English speaking groups I have no idea what they are on about!

Europe is a mix of cultures and languages. We benefit overall from mixing in my humble opinion (apart from unranked PvP - where Russian groups kick butt all day every day… )

If it bothers you, ask before hand about languages.

Exactly I love playing with all people cultures and languages.

Whilst searching for groups you can select languages. I assume that selecting a language means one knows basics of it. As much as it doesn’t really mater for mog or mount runs of legacy raids, it’s substantial for current raids or m+.

The realms are already segregated by languages, to quote the Realm Options article on battle.net’s website:

“For example, the European region has English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian realms.”

Why English language realms get linked to Russian language realms I simply can’t understand, it’s very odd.

The article I quoted from.

I was not the one who created the party for the +2 i joined a pug group.

M+ has no matchmaking so that person signed up for an non-Russian group. Blizzard can’t do anything reasonable about this it’s not their fault that person decided to do something so unreasonable when they don’t speak English.

My point was why limit it to stopping just Russians, why not everyone that cannot speak English? (I’m disagreeing with OP if that is not clear, this is something I don’t feel should be done)

As I said I get the language barrier can be an issue at times (not very often though in my experience.) WoWs population is at a low, if we start separating on language they will be a lot of lowly populated servers. Also we lose that benefit that different cultures and people bring to the game (and the community)

They have name in azbuka aka different letters.
Easy to tell difference.

Okay i dont understand wtf you are talking about making up some of your own weird points but everything you told in all your posts is made up in your own mind and has nothing to do with this post… so say something that is true or dont speak at all cause right now you are just making up things you think that happened

I think it was just an example. Imagine any 20+ team consisting of, for example, a French, a German, a Polish, a Russian, and a Greek that only know their native language! To a point language filtering is needed.

I tick all the languages in the search because I only do legacy stuff - no-one speaks there LOL

I always have, just a few more groups to decline me! (if it is English only then there are so few groups theses days to pug raid)

You are totally lost dude.

Personnaly i’m not for splitting people due to their languages

I prefer that Blizzard take the Google Translate API, and then set in their service so we can play with everyone

The Translate API is very easy to use, and can be cool if implemented on WoW

If that is what you think then you completely mis understood the purpose of my thread.
I was first of all asking a question and secondly that the people who only know 1 language should keep to their respective servers everyone who can come to at least a middle ground who are bilingual should always talk to each other and share each others culture.

No. I speak three languages and have no problem communicating with them. If I was in a group, doing some quirky achievements, with people who cannot communicate with me, and vice-versa, then it sucks! Filter groups according to the lingos you know.

Why didn’t you say Portugese and Italian also

why just Russian

why not French or German
