Server shut downs at same time

its been, i don’t know, 5 years since classic came out. has maintenance shutdown always been the same time for retail and classic?

why not have retail maintenance Tuesday night, and classic maintenance Thursday night. it gives something available the whole time. seems like a no brainer… has this been addressed before?

It’s always been the same time for all versions.

I suspect the reason is probably due to certain resources being shared among clients or something to that extent.

Mate.

If you can’t handle an hour of down time a week in the middle of the night, maybe it’s time to step away for a while…

very presumptuous of you tbh. i would like to play when i want to play. and due to work and other reasons, i am usually awake “in the middle of the night”. not all of us are lucky enough to live a “normal” life with “normal” hours. thank you for not answering the question. have a good day

It makes far more sense to have one reset time for all rather than scattering them all over the place. I certainly wouldn’t appreciate a different reset day in Classic to Retail.

Resets are often straightforward and don’t take the whole hour. They are just down and come back up. Depends on what needs to happen.

Well thankfully the game caters to the millions of players who do and not the few.

The one day in middle of the night is the least impactful on the player base.

Does it suit you?
No

Tough

It works for about 99% of the player base

When you start World of Vintoleth you can reset when you like :kissing_heart:

Playing since tbc, probably heard every possible complaint. but first time i hear this one.

1 hour at night.

If you cant handle, you NEED to unsub and get some mental health treatment. Gaming addiction is real and dangerous.

Most of the times not even an hour tbh
I would understand na complaining cuz their reset time is at morning i think but eu complaining about this is kinda weird

I meant up to 1 hour, on very weird and special occasions. Usually its probably 15 minutes ?

It likely has more to do with the work hours of those overseeing the server resets on the off-chance that something happens that needs correcting. Since it almost always go smooth and the servers are back up within 15 - 30 minutes, outside of patch days, then it makes sense to have both happen at the same time. Frees up an hour each week for those in charge of overseeing it, even if they likely get some other work done while it happens anyways.

It’s probably because all clients work on common infrastructure and it doesn’t make sense to try to separate the maint activities just to keep a couple of people from moaning.
