Blizz unannounced server shut downs ?? Whats up with that?

The end is near! 
If you had the server shut down in x minutes message, it usually means they need to apply some kind of fix.

good. my character on soulseeker died because of the “disconnected from blizzard services” yellow text. Some sh*t happens on the servers.
I’m quite annoyed since I was close to getting my guardian druid to lvl 90… Maybe I should go to bed instead, it’s past 3 am, lmao.

How long shutdown lasts usually ?
Pretty much, yes. But my general experience is that if Blizzard have to do extended maintenance, they are fairly good at compensating us, giving us an extra day. Personally, I’ve never felt badly treated as a customer, bugs/exploits are discovered and may need to be emergency fixed.
Varies. May be 15 minutes, may be 6 hours. We sadly don’t know without an official announcement.

In fact, the End User License Agreement which all players agree to says exactly this.
They are not liable for any loss or inability to access or use the service in any way.
Partially precisely for events such as this.

But legal matters obligations from blizz towards purchaser that is actually paying and their point of view, it doesn’t seem to be taken into account and it isnt oke to just drop down a server shut down unannounced!!
