Server side user settings reset / disabled

So a lot of my settings for the past decade or so have been reset. I’m looking for ideas on how to fix this. I tried a “scan and repair” and I checked my mods, but this seems like server side settings.

• Auto loot is suddenly disabled. I made my main character in 2005 and I have NEVER seen this error on him before. (interface -> controls -> auto loot)
• When I use scripts I get this error: “you are attempting to run a custom script. Running scripts could compro…”. It comes every single time I use a script.
• My camera settings have reset. Camera angle resets back to default view which is super annoying. (interface -> camera -> never adjust camera)
• I can no longer zoom out as far as I used to
• I can no longer stealth while mounted (interface -> controls -> auto dismount)
• I made a macro yesterday which is available in /macro but gone from my interface.
  *Loot windows is at mouse (interface -> controls -> open loot window at mouse)

What works

• My keybinds works.
• Abilities are still placed the on the same keys as before.

Auto look only affects one character.
Camera resetting affects all.

Sounds like you didn’t exit the game properly at some point and may have corrupted some settings. Isn’t the end of the world. Just set things up properly and reloadui.

This isn’t an error, it’s just a notice that was introduced that lets you know you’re running a custom script for the first time. If you trust the code just hit OK.

Enable auto dismount while flying.

I made a macro yesterday which is available in /macro but gone from my interface.

Falls under didn’t exit the game properly.

All your issues, except the macro being removed from your bars, can be directly traced to CVars.

Hi Elvenbane

I’d call it an error when it comes endlessly even when I choose “accept”. The next time I run a script the error comes again. Anyway. Do you know of a way to suppress it? It’s annoying to get the dialogue box every time I press and ability.

I ended up pressing “no” to the custom script and half my keys dont work nomore. Do you know of a way to enable custom scripts again?

Initially yes but they shouldn’t be persisting. If they’re continuing between sessions then it’s possible you’ve got anti-virus software or something making it so your WTF folder cannot be written to.

If that’s not the case, you might try resetting all CVars to default and seeing if that resolves the issue going forward.

All of this assumes you’ve already ruled out addons as a cause.
