Free transfers from the servers with the craziest queues to the less populated ones should be the obvious next step. Because no matter what Blizzard is going to face a problem of player population being spread extremely poorly. That will cause the dead serves that they so dread, and make turning off layering more difficult.
Timing of this and selecting the right target servers isn’t simple though. It’s not ideal to let floods of lvl 20s and 30s to a fresh PvP server. Yes it can be done, and has been done before in WoW, but it’s not the best for the players starting anew there.
In my opinion this whole queue debacle is Blizzard’s own fault for not taking this seriously enough and being prepared for it more properly.
With that said if they did enable server transfers they shouldn’t charge money from it, but instead they should allow people to transfer their characters to emptier servers for free.
They’ve done this before with older expansions (don’t remember which one though), so it’s 100% doable.
You realise that Blizzard has probably gained millions of returning players who had not be subbed for years plus new subs (worldwide), they will make a hell of a profit.
The current realm transfer system is done automated so it costs literally nothing once the coding is done so theres no admin or if so literally none. If Blizzard wants to keep these returning subs, ie hundreds of millions worth each month then they better get there team of 5 guys to get it fixed ASAP, setting up transfers will not cost a lot of money. In-fact if they pulled there hands out their asss sooner it could already have been done.
These people will jump through any hoops to shill for blizzard and troll people who aren’t satisfied with the classic launch, don’t expect anything from them.
For their incompetence? More like the playerbase consisting of anti-afk scripters making this an impossible task. and they will never care because they are always online anyway
you do realise how bad of an argument that was? Servers should be able to hold the population, be up 24/7 as advertised and not have q times so you are able to play! It’s not the players’ fault that they want to play the game they paid for. You just missed the point entirely, the problem is blizz not fixing the game, not the players that want to play it…
All the scripters should get banned, it’s just the same as using a bot or any third party program helping you “play” the game, you don’t realise how badly this affects the queue length and time… so please do continue to live in your ignorance thinking that the world needs to adapt to people like you banging their head at the wall expecting to find gold once the skull cracks
These people are doing this because of the failure and incompetence of Blizzard, to say otherwise is basically saying your retarded. I do agree with you however that it is wrong and the only way I can see this changing is for players to be Disconnected periodically. This way those not afk can simply log back in including those who have left the computer for a few moments, as the server does give grace to log back in.
Blizzard knew or wait maybe " They thought they did but they didn’t"… lol. Anyway like I said previously people PAID MONEY to reserve names by subbing early (myself included) I didn’t play retail during that time because it is total garbage. They would have known at that point 3 server for release was not even close, this has pushed these people to break the rules, they are at fault but who can blame them? I don’t, I blame Blizzard.
There is no denying that Blizz made MAJOR mistakes before launch regarding the amount of servers available and I could possibly agree with you on the original classic server cap as well, however after the cap was increased it more than halfed the queues (per average for europe) So yes indeed they F’ed up but we as players ensure that they continue to be F’ed, take a moment and look at every inn you pass by when you’re ingame, I have yet to see one without 50-100 people sitting (standby) just taking up spots.
Be reasonable for a minute and think this through, Do we really show Blizz a NORMAL amount of load for the servers?
We already have the ones scripting wasting slots for nothing and then because of this we have little to no flow of people connecting and disconnecting as we would normally.
Even if people took time off their jobs etc we are not ~30k people per server able to play all day as the queues are estimating right now.
Blizzard is to blame, but we are certainly not making it better…
