Hey everyone,
I’ve been getting really bad lag on EU servers lately when playing from Jakarta, Indonesia. My ISP (Biznet) helped me run several tests, and it looks like everything is fine on their end all the way up to Blizzard’s network in Europe, but the connection starts dropping packets once it reaches Blizzard’s side.
We tested multiple EU realm IPs and found the following:
-
185.60.112.157 – Sunstrider (EU) → consistently 20–30% packet loss
-
185.60.114.33 – Ravencrest (EU) → similar loss and latency spikes
-
185.60.112.24 – control test in the same subnet → no loss, stable connection
WinMTR results show a clean route through Biznet’s network and international hops, but once the traffic enters Blizzard’s backbone between Paris (eqpa4) and Amsterdam (eqam3), latency starts spiking and packet loss appears.
Players in my raid in Europe at the same time report no issues, so this seems to specifically affect routes coming from Asia. My ISP confirmed their routing and international handoff are stable until the connection reaches Blizzard’s network.
Could someone from the network team please take a look at the route between those nodes? It’s been making the game nearly unplayable from this region.
Thanks

This issue is already +2 years old
People from Spain did complain that they have high spikes+disconnects, later i found some people from Italy did complain too, and few days ago person from Portugal had the same issue
Only solution was VPN/proxy to different country(Poland/Germany/Czech/Austria/etc), so you avoid that one route. if possible avoid VPNs who use Azure
And that one guy from few days ago Portugal didn’t clearly stated if the VPN did help or not
only real solution for them to fix it, is to send it often in in-game bug report, and when you unsub give them reason like this: “fix your France+Netherland servers” or more detailed, but be clear that you unsub because they didn’t fix their routing/servers in years

Tonight I got the same problem from Italy. Big lag spikes and the game is unplayable. Only wow is affected, my connection is perfect when I do other activities.

Started having the exact same issue since last night from Turkey, home ms is fine but world ms peaks around 4 digits, other games or services are completely fine.
