Severe Stuttering after updating to Pre-patch 10.0

I believe the issue has something to do with graphics card incompatibility with the 10.0 version. On an AMD card, enabling the Performance Overlay (ctrl+shift+O) does solve the issue for me in-game, it makes little to no sence, but somehow it does the trick. However the PC still stutters even with the game alt tabbed, for as long as the game is running. The issue doesn’t present itself the same way to everyone, probably because of different graphics cards/card BIOS version, but anyway, if you are on a AMD card, try to enable the overlay in-game and see if it temporarily helps ^^
Lets hope this gets fixed before expansion launch

Todays update, bring back the famous sttutering…
AGAIN….
cant do a single dungeon… ffs im tired of this

I thought my PC would straight up die today with the new event/elementals. It stuttered like insane and kept freezing at some point.
I had to use Corgi glasses to turn everyone to Corgis to make it all more bearable. It was -never- an issue before. Sure we get world boss lag, but not stuttering and game freezing.

This is so bad. I just tried to do Galleon. Was stuttering my entire way there, and when he spawned the game literally froze until he died.

It’s boggling my mind how it’s not fixed yet…

Exactly the same for me (3070 TI + Ryzen 3800X) stutters like hell and it literally freezes when the boss spawns.

Experiencing same stuttering since pre patch. It’s been 17 days since last update from Blizzard on US forums and not a single word on EU. Communication is horrible.

Maybe because the new “developers” dont have clue about developing?

Let me bump this thread a little bit because this is getting frustrating.
What I have tried and how I came to the conclusion that this is definitely a problem within the game client:

✓ Tested on two different machines that run different GPU - AMD/Nvidia.
✓ Tested with different drivers on both of the machines (DDU old drivers > then clean install older and new drivers).
✓ Tested with both low and high graphics settings options in-game.
✓ Tested with the cvar commands that people provided.
✓ Tested with the method of deleting Interface/Cache/WTF folders.
✓ Uninstalling/Reinstalling the game
✓ Completely resetting graphic option settings.

NO Difference.

Machines that I used:
First: Intel i7 9700K / Nvidia RTX 3060Ti / 16GB RAM
Second: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X / AMD RX 6700 XT / 32GB RAM
(both with SSD drives and ideal network connection)

It amaze me how this problem is ignored and meanwhile there are subscription bundles and mounts that comes up in the web store and they are trying to hook you up with a 1 year subscription plan. How can I subscribe to a game that is full of bugs, it stutters, lags and I cannot even play properly.
In a world that a brand new triple A game comes for a price of 39-49$, we are paying half that price for a subscription only to a game that is having a ton of issues. I bring the money card because WE are actually paying to have this experience. Its not about “well you have a choice”, its about the players who love the game and want to enjoy it, but these issues are still not fixed. If that’s the case you will loose a long year member of the game.

I also tried to reach Blizzard support by opening a ticket that lasted open for 2 straight weeks. Their answer was horrendous, they told me to try using the cvar that everyone is using… Imagine having to tweak the game with cvars that doesn’t even solve the problem in order to have a smooth gameplay experience.

I leave everything in the hands of the community. I hope this issue is fixed by the release of Dragonflight.

It’s mind boggling to me that this problem still exists. I can’t say I know anything about game development, but we aren’t getting updates either.

What’s even more frustrating is that not everyone experiences it, so it seems like it’s low priority?

We only have 7 days until the launch, there should be a bigger ruckus about this even though there isn’t, and I doubt it will change if DF launches with this problem still in the game…

Are we going to get an update about this problem? You can’t treat customers like that. This is not free to play game. We payd for the game and paying monthly subscriptions. Simply unacceptable.

If lucky we get a fix months into Df. The game seems to suffer from some memory leaks, DX12 issues and pop-ins/stuttering and slower loading times.

I have a RTX 4090 & i9 13900k 64GB RAM and getting the stuttering, setting graphics quality to 1 and back to 8 makes the game smooth, but overtime it starts to stutter again. I’m running on latest drivers, windows 11.

im really boring with this stuttering.

Almost a month. Zero satisfaction from the pre patch and even less from the event. Shame on you. I’m tired of this.

I have noticed that since today, the stuttering got somehow worse.
moving around major cities is a real nightmare… I was playing at 120 fps just before patch and I want that experience back please.

We won’t have a reply, the painful truth is that Blizzard is ignoring hard this issue and I am feeling that even they don’t know what the real root of the problem is… We are most certainly going to start DF with these issues existing.

Currently DF will be unplayable for me so will unsub until it’s fixed.

New information to me
Windows patch 22h2 and nividia have some real problems,
The windows patch is triggering a debug mode in nividia geforce and eats frames.

So I am trying a fix where you uninstall geforce experience load a beta version
3.26.0.131 and turn on experimental features.

I don’t have Geforce Experience installed and still my game stuttering badly since pre patch. Thats Blizzard fault and they ignoring this from over a month. Not a single word here and on the US forums.
