So we killed shade of aran week 1 without too much problems, but yesterday we just could not down shade because of dragon breath randomly oneshotting healers who werent anywhere CLOSE to melee . one try he even used it right as the fight started and instakilled a warlock . Dat damage is unhealable, its waaaay to high and waaay too random. And yes, we went with three healers. sometimes he just wouldnt use it until last phase , sometimes three dragon breaths before the wipe.
That ability seems very buggy. also, the blizzard hits outside it’s animation, and one try i took a lot of damage from blizzard cause it overlapped with flame wreath , so i had to stand still and eat it.
on a similar note, yesterday me and some dudes from my guild were doing shattered halls HC, and it went fine up until we had to kill Kargath, whom for some reason decided to charge out of the ‘cage’ and reset himself… my guess is he did that because there were some totems out in the ‘gauntlet’ before we engaged, however these totems were removed before we pulled, so he was literally seeing ghosts, and thus charging out and then resetting himself.
Same. Sometimes DB does nothing even when i stand right in front of the animation and sometimes it kills someone that is not even in range.
Feels completely random
So i took roughly 16 k damage from dragon breath and died. is that supposed to happen? i am a tank. if i cant survive that, who can ? i have a screenshot of the damage intake, and logs, if you want me to submit it.
It is still bugged. He just randomly one-shots our healers. Also in one of our trys a player got combat rezzed by a druid and was standing in Shattrath after the rezz not in Karazhan. What the hell?
Let me first explain how Dragon’s Breath should actually work:
Shade of Aran is casting Dragon’s Breath at a random player. The spell applies an aura with 3 effects:
2000 fire damage every 2 seconds
Disorientation
Dummy effect which let the player cast Dragon’s Breath (it’s a different one) every second. The secondly triggered spell deals 1000 fire damage to friendly players within a 5 yards radius.
So let me summarize this:
The player hit by Dragon’s Breath takes 6000 fire damage over 6 seconds
Nearby players get hit for 1000 fire damage every second if they stay within a 5 yards radius.
And now look how it’s currently working:
The player hit by Dragon’s Breath receives 6000 fire damage OVER 3 SECONDS
Nearby players AND THE TARGETED PLAYER receive 1000 fire damage every second
Look at following log entries from our last Aran kill:
The 2000 fire damage ticks should occur every 2 seconds instead of every second
The 1000 fire damage ticks should NOT affect the player at all. It should only affect nearby players.
I actually like the idea of playing the pre-nerfed raid versions, but Karazhan seems to be a strange mix of pre-nerf damage/health values paired with only a few pre-nerf mechanics and some bugs.
This killed me last night, was a Prot Warrior. He one shot me with Dragon Breath too, not an actual one-shot but enough damage in a short enough time that it looked like a Quake 3 instagib… Also the Blizzard is way larger than it should be, it used to go around the outside of the room but on Classic it actually seems like it covers a much larger area that goes past the centre/middle point of the room too.
In the old days Blizzard was literally a non-issue for melee, now it’s a real mechanic that very much concerns melee and you have to move the boss away from the centre of the room and around with the Blizzard. It’s fine and we’re still killing the boss but it’s not the same fight it was in the old days.
I can confirm this. We killed Aran yesterday and had two Dragon’s Breaths. One we were able to outheal with all 3 healers and me as ele spamming lesser healing wave.
It seems like the target of the dragon’s breath takes 3000 damage per second instead of the 1000 damage per second (2000 ever 2) it’s supposed to deal.
Also the blizzard’s are a lot (and I do mean a lot) larger then their hitboxes.
We’ve never had this. The elementals meele on cloth for ~1500 and their water bolt hits for ~1700. We had one Warlock banish one and fear one, and the tank who had nothing to do pick up the other two. They were a non factor in the fight.
DB happens randomly it seems. Last Week we didn’t get one at all. This week we got 2. It also seems to deal roughly 3 times the amount of damage it should, unless you have a lot of luck with healing the targeted player can not survive it.
Imagine q2 numbers if they didn’t rush a bugged tbc with 70 euro storemounts though…
With no new patch in retail and final fantasy stealing competition from activision xD
They are desperate and for the first time ever they got forced into trying to do something good rather than just milking money only and failed just a little bit.
