Shadow Cloud service

Hi, I’d love to get my girlfriend playing WOW but her laptop is too old. I was looking into shadow Cloud gaming but saw that it can get you banned…

Will this be something that would be only if cheating or doing something bad? It’s sadly the only option she has right now and we’d love to play together.

Cloud gaming is the future and if it’s against the TOU then maybe I could ask that it’s looked into.

Cheating is possible on any device if the willpower is given, I don’t see why cloud gaming should be singled out when it gives people a good option of subscribing to your service where they normally wouldn’t be able to.

I hope this changes.

Doing it at all can lead to a ban, even using teamviewer.

True, blizzard want you sat in front of the computer the game is running on and cloud gaming doesn’t do that. I personally think their anti-cheat system cannot detect a remote bot farming or any other type of Bot being used from another machine.

It is sad. People using things like this dont have a PC that can game.
Imagine how many people would join if it was open and it catches on. With Geforce Now and Stadia changing things I hope Bliz open their eyes to the change that will come.

So I guess I wont be playing with my girlfriend on here. Sad times for something that doesnt do anything but let her play this game and in the end is a new sub for them.

Unfortunately not at the presiding time, as GFN launched without permission from Acti-Blizz and they have requested it to be removed as many other publishers done so.

You can read more about that over news covering it for example at Polygon.

As this is not something CS handles, it’s all very high level decisions and far away in the future perhaps.

Edit: It is correct that they were on GFN Beta before (free version). This is covered by newslets.

Not entirely true, they have been on nvidia geforce now for years but removed it only recently when they wanted money from Nvidia. Geforce now has been around since 2015 and bliz has been on from the beginning.

But this is more about Shadow which is very different as the pc is yours and your version of Windows.

They removed it because Nvidia didn’t get their permission. Money may have something to do with it but Blizzard are sticklers for their own copyrights.

Also you can bot much easier and undetected when playing remotely.
