From my perspective, the worst thing about M+ as a shadow priest is the ‘soft’ target cap. Void Crash is supposed to hit 8 targets, but it can randomly hit mobs that die in one shot. We also have to manually cast additional DoTs. Most mobs in M+ don’t live long enough for this to be effective, so we’re left relying only on Void Crash. Other classes don’t have this problem, even with a target cap, because when one mob dies, their spells automatically hit the remaining living ones.
In my opinion, this problem could be fixed with changes like:
- Adding a spell that spreads your DoTs from the target to everything within X yards.
- Giving Void Crash 2 charges.
- Removing the target cap on Void Crash.
- Adding something that reduces Void Crash’s cooldown (e.g., ticks from SW:P or VT).
Of course, to keep the damage under control, the damage from Psychic Link could be reduced beyond X targets.
