Gearing is a mathematic problem, skill or progress has zero effect. Basic appeal to authority fallacy. Also really stupid when Ellipsìs says,

If this was any other class or spec, I’d probably say yeah using a basic stat priority isn’t ideal.
This means agreeing with my point. My goal is to point out how nasty and bigoted you all are. That you slander people that don’t agree with you. Thanks for the help.
Now if you had any clue about gear, you would have known not to point it out. That ilvl 428 gear sims at 81,837 HPS. Kind of a dead givaway that I know what I am doing.
Post your evidence, special pleading fallacy detected. Note, that your own gear violates your own advice. Prove you are right.
Note as both simc and ask mr robot, " Despite common belief, there is not one combination of stats that is way better than all the others.
There are many different combinations of stats that are very close in value."
Note that this is true of your gear. You value haste > crit. Yet advise haste = crit but ignore the sourse from the method website stating that stat weights are important. If haste = crit as you abvise, then your own gear is proof you are wrong.
Now if want I say is true then both haste = crit and haste>crit can both be true, it depends. I have no internal contradiction. If you post your own opinion again then that is a win for me. Opinion = nothing. Remember logs won’t save you or progress.
Both simc and ask mr robot agree in different ways.
Simc uses stat weights.
Ask Mr Robot using stat distrubution.
Ask mr robot ( [May 2020: New Corruption Features for BfA]) show in its graph that different values of haste and crit can give optimal performance. crit>haste. haste>crit and haste=crit, all high performing. It depends.
Simc will give different stats, even vers can sometimes be higher. Haste loses its value at some point. crit and vers can overtake it.
Both sims agree, that different gear combinations can have different stats distrubutions and still perform well. Ask Mr Robot shows that the 100% best performing values are 2478 haste, 1770 crit, 354 mastery and 0 vers. Implies haste > crit.

Your out of your league here. Crit and haste is way better. Just because some with bonkers gear see versa rise in value doesnt make it true for everyone else.
Lets say I change a piece of gear with crit/haste to haste/versa now. My vers value is gonna down hard just by changing one piece.

Again, you have to prove what you are saying. Simc is an accepted standard sim that most of the player base is using. It’s accepted as reliable, you need to prove its wrong. Stat weight change with your gear and can be different. If you use some other method then you need to prove it.
Simc run again ELLIPSÌS.
Stat Weights
Critical Strike 10.74 <— more crit
Versatility 10.41
Haste 8.83 <----- Haste worth far less.
Mastery 7.91
Intellect 3.97
1 point of Critical Strike will increase your DPS by 10.74
Here Crit > haste. [corruption] 30 Crit /= haste This is why you run stat weights. As per methods website. Here ELLIPSÌS should change +12% to crit but has not done so.
You can also play the game of trying to get the simulator number as high as you can but that can lead to odd gems, enchants and other buffs. Most of the time you can’t prove this makes any difference with your logs. Its only big changes, human beings don’t play reliably enough for the small ones.
I dont understand what you are fighting about. No one is saying “dont trust your stat weights!”. But if a shadowpriest player reaches the point where vers gets valued as high as crit/haste on a stat weigth sim he/she passed the level where the tip “stack haste and crit” is prolly not very helpful anymore because that person reached a point where basic tips doesnt do much anymore.
Any shadowpriest with mediocre gear will have haste and crit sim higher for them. Its a better stat than vers for shadow, plain and simple. The people in need of the tip “stack haste and crit” prolly dont have full mythic gear.
But I can try to prove later what happens with my stat weigths when I exchange one piece of gear with versa on it for something else when im at the computer.
You realise severe III has not been on the vendor yet and currently isn’t available to just swap to on a whim, right?
Nobody is arguing that weights are bad, I said what I said because for this specific person in this specific case (Newly gearing shadow, likely lacking important pieces of the puzzle which massively impact the value of certain stats short term) it’s more important to have a solid answer of what types of items they are going to be looking for / wanting to equip, than telling them to SIM themselves.
Also you realise I’ve logged out in m+ gear for the last week, why are you judging my setup for single target when single target barely exists in this game?
For me our mechanics want haste and crit. Just make rotation smooth and hit stronger. In current BFA gearing I can’t play with stats. But my inner feeling will want to try versatility=mastery>haste>crit. As booth versatility/mastery rise dmg on paper look good to be stacked. This want for PvP, but my casual gearing, can’t give me what I want. Also to note, that neck exclue versatiliy, which is bad DEVs design for me, like secondary of secondary stat of stats.
For PvP haste and crit (If you ran SA traits) would still be strongest. However, because of the value of survivability from versa in PvP you want to run high haste high Vers, as mastery is terrible and crit has reduced value in PvP without SA.
Given you run haste Vers, your ideal setup would be 3x DT as priority, then other traits that provide stats such as dark heart and clockwork heart.
Yes you will sim higher in ask mr robot if you switch 12% haste to 12% crit. 92,028 DPS vs. 93,041 DPS. You will never see 1k dps in logs. Changing 2 x 12% to 12% crit is 93,126 DPS.
In simc change to 12% crit is higher 97,743 vs 98,223 dps. 2 x 12% crit is 97,984 dps.
What part of your post can you prove? Your mouth moves nothing of value appears. Your opinion is just an opinion. I can ignore it. You got to prove it. So far you can’t prove anything so why listen to you. Pease out.
No one’s listening, your opinion is just an opinion. Put up or move on. That’s what I am doing right now, moving on. I am not going to hound you or waste my time further, waiting for proof you never had. All your toadies personally attacking me.
Disagreeing with you isn’t personally attacking you. And imagine proving with each post further and further what I mentioned about you is true and still not realizing you are doing it.
Absolutely priceless.
Stop making a fool out of yourself, we are dying from laughter over here.
Only once you stop being disillusioned and claiming that data pulled from logs and mathed out by theorycrafters is wrong, without proving any actual proof.
Only once you stop using Mr. Robot because it has become less and less accurate over the years.
Only when you realize that stat weights don’t take into account the fact that you lose one stat to gain another and thus is only a guide line on what to choose rather than something set in stone.
Only once you explain how is it an opinion when corruption vendors haven’t actually had Severe r3 (aka crit 12%) on them yet. How do you swap to a corruption you do not have?
How is it ambigious? Everyone with half a braincell knows about theorycrafters pulling their data from logs made by people who actually play the game. It’s not just random opinions.
Vast majority of people suggest raidbots instead. And Magicsim for Shadow priests specifically. I don’t see how that’s unsubstantial. People wouldn’t suggest an alternative if the first one worked well.
You do realize that simming Patchwerk is useless when there are basically no fights like that at all in the current raid? You’d be better of simming add cleave and even better yet, alter the string to tell it exactly when and how many adds will appear to get more realistic result for each fight.
This is especially true since most specs have somewhat different gear for raid and m+, hence it makes no sense to tell someone to change their stuff based on a Patchwerk gain when simming their m+ gear.
Also, why did you ignore the point of Severe r3 not being on vendor being an opinion. I still need to know how this is an opinion in your mind.
