Hello, wondering if anyone has any tips or advice, I am currently leveling a shadow priest in cata with no heirlooms at all. Even tho I am following the rotation I see in guides online my damage output is most of the times the worst in the party, sometimes under even the healer. I do not understand what I am doing wrong. Thank you for the replies in advance
Just finished leveling my shadow priest, without heirlooms, to max, and i had to heal in dungeons cuz low lvl dungeons as shadow was aweful. Im normally not one for healing, but it was way more fun than trying to do good as shadow. It all changed when i got Mind Sear but you dont get that til lvl 74 or something. So tldr my advice… Heal in dungeons as disc. you get to do dmg whilst healing

SP dmg takes a long time to set up, essentially you do nothing for the first 3 seconds and will be rewarded in more dmg over the duration of about 20 seconds.
With mobs dying in <5s there is no reward over a duration of 20 seconds, and doing nothing the first 3 seconds hits you extra hard.
If you wanna keep on SP-ing:
Cast SWP on the none-prime target mobs. Mindblast+SWD the prime target, (probably dead by then). Attack the mob with the least HP left with Mindblasts and SWD, maybe mindflay.
Last mob to live start wanding once there is no more time left to add a final Mindblast by your judgement, so you get more spirit regen and dont have to drink (ppl move very fast
in these dungeons, no time to drink).
Only use VT on bosses. Even when doing all this you will be lowest on dmg, gl.

At lvl 32 you get shafow word death and you can buy spirit tap glyph - it helps with mana management
Also masochist talent too
