Shadow Priest - Legacy of the Void changes

Here we go again.

The Legacy of the Void talent is half way to be fixed, but it’s still not enough.

First of all, the changes made to Void Form practically “boosting” Devouring Plague is a counter itself. These two things do not work together - in order to push Void Form to high stacks, Legacy of the Void should be a choice to practically “sacrifice” using Devouring Plague. I suggest removing this interaction whatsoever, because it’s not gonna work as it should.

Second thing is - the 0,5% haste buff is still not enough. It has been proven many and many times over and over again that the haste buff should be AT LEAST 1% per stack. I’m gonna repeat myself here, but there has been so intensive testing and theorycrafting and in order to make it work, it has to be 1% haste buff per stack.

Third thing and a very important one aswell - If someone takes Legacy of the Void, the Void Form should NOT have a cooldown. Void Form having a cooldown just destroys the whole point of ramping damage and pushing for the highest possible Void Form.

I would see it as it follows:
Ancient Madness is gonna provide those with this talent with huge burst damage, hence stronger Void Form at a cost of cooldown, which is totally fine.

Surrender to Madness is gonna provide the user with more frequent Void Forms, perhaps very fit to mythic + or boss fights that will have a lot of adds where you can utilize it and that is also fine.

Legacy of the Void SHOULD deliver the original, classic Void Form gameplay, hence, slowly stacking haste and pushing for highest possible Void Form. It should be weaker, hence the Devouring Plague dot extension removal, but in order to make it work, it should not have cooldown at all. That does not deliver the gameplay people want (assuming they enjoy and like Void Form like myself).

So to summarize everything REGARDING Legacy of the Void only:
Remove the Devouring Plague interraction with Void Bolt
Increase the haste buff per stack to 1% as it used to be
Remove Void Form cooldown completely.

If these things are gonna be done, it is gonna be exactly where it should be, it will deliver the gameplay style we, Void Form lovers, actually want and need and most importantly, it’s gonna work this way.

Thank you very much !

What bothers me about the cooldown is now the consistency of gameplay is gone. With LOTV we’re going through alternating periods of very different gameplay, like we’re playing two different specs. If our damage is gimped when we’re outside of the 90 second cd it’s going to be worse than it is now.

The consistency will be gone if it stays like that, of course.
Devouring Plague should have been just talent build in my opinion. This strips Void Form gameplay of its uniqueness and originality. Giving Void Form innitial cool down is fine for people that want to play different build than stacking Void Form, they have that possibility now, but for us, who wants to play normally stacking VF, Legacy needs to be reworked in a way so it actually functions and performs at the same time as it should and for now, it’s not.

They should just get rid of it. Either make it a total Rework or stop trying to cater to us who enjoy the Voidform Gameplay since it will never be the same again anyway. Waste of a Potential good Talent Spot.

Someone tell them they need to make a 4th Spec if they wanna keep Voidform alive

agreed.

Void form has to be a fourth specc just look long term wise, each expansion will introduce stuff centred around the baselined Shadow Priest. Which will then require testing against LoTV… its going to just be thrown left right and centre in balance trying to keep these both in check.

why are they so against the concept of a fourth specc.

All they had to do. was Make the New shadow rework on a New template for the class and revert its animations to old shadow with the Ravens and shadow magic. and u would have had 2 completely different looking speccs which work on completely different mechanics…

these types of talents are proven to flop time and time again yet they tried to cling to one which they couldnt even keep balanced as a entire specc let alone a balancing act in conjunction with anothjer playstyle now.

they’ve removed all hope of progression with thids gameplay as its hard to build or expand on a Concept of a Talent.

You realise how completely off the table adding a 4th spec to a class was for this expansion, right?

Well i know that :stuck_out_tongue: its been off the table since blizzard Stated 36 speccs is too much to balance.

but its still likely to be far more successful then this 2 Speccs in 1 concept they’re throwing in instead
