Mind flay works on warriors using bladestorm (not the slow effect)
Mass dispel works on mage Ice Block
These two things fundamentally stunt shadow priest in PVP scenarios.
Also as an honourable mention, Shadow Priests should be able to have a SLOW EFFECT that is not associated with a channel effect. This would help with classes that we stand little chance against like warrior and feral druid, where our only option to win is to “survive” their cooldown periods for certain moves, i.e Berserk (feral) and Berserkers rage (warrior), charge (warrior), intercept (warrior)
Anyone else agree with this? Would love to get some other thoughts, but this stuff is BASIC stuff that isn’t right I feel…
I agree partly with you. However you have a fear and fear with disarm. Its not like you dont have any crowd control besides mindflay.
However for pvp you need engineering as shadowpriest: net and stun bombs and stun helmet. Without those, druids just run away indeed but druids should be able to run away since its their main trait.
The biggest problem for a priest is being immobile himself thats why i rolled druid.
ummm, none of those engineering items work in arena anymore, right? Old trinket aren’t effective as you level up.
BTW i’m fairly sure you can psychic horror a warriors bladestorm. Right?
In TBC shadow priests would fully dot a warrior and re-shield themselves, fear (even if just for a global) and the warrior would be dead. In arena, that mean it took only 10-15 seconds of CC on their healer by your team mate to kill them.
WOTLK isn’t about getting in control of a fight and stabilizing at 100% HP. it’s about the other dudes being dead before you are. That includes doing wacky stuff, like using Preparation which is a 5 minute cooldown just so you can shadowstep 5 seconds sooner than normal… because 1 kick can win a game.
