Shadow priest solo shuffle

Hey

Can anyone give any advice on how to play against, Demon hunters, warriors, druids, rouges and death knights?
I used to be able to kite them (not death knights or rouges) around pillars, I would fade their slow and root them with void tendrils, and then if they caught up again, fade fear all while using my feathers to move faster + movement speed enchants, that was a big part in getting 1800 rating last season as shadow.

Now, I cant do anything, the moment I use fade to remove the slow, I’m slowed again. The moment I fear them they’re free, the moment I root them, they’re free, the moment I stun them, they actually stand still for a couple seconds, so now I cant escape.

Then there is the issue with casting, I don’t like shadow crash, I would rather take a talent that will actually boost my damage output, not one that basically just does what VT + misery + Unfurling darkness already does, so it feels like a waster talent but obvs we’re forced to take it, because hard casting is impossible. I mean, ofc there is precog, and I try to bait kicks, but it hardly ever works, which means all that time I have just spent trying to bait a kick was wasted and I may aswel have been stunned for that duration, so I cc myself by trying to fake cast.

And for some reason, they’re dispelling my dots without getting “horrified”, does anyone know why this is? I understand priest can fade dispel but what about other healers?
I feel like, I can go in an arena and I am useless.

Please can someone give me some advice, that isn’t “reroll” or “play healer” I do play healer now and then, but I want to main shadow.

Because I know that 95% of the time I will be focused, I have taken Blessed Recovery, which does a crazy amount of healing and has kept me alive long enough a few times to win.

My stats for pvp
Cit - 12%
Haste - 23%
Mastery - 10%
Vers - 36%
Speed 11%

Hey, unfortunately there is no secret, sp is the most horrible spec especially for low exp/beginner.
Even the best sp got a terrible or even negative w/l ratio.

The spec is really clunky to play, and you are never rewarded for doing your job, you can’t win games by yourself and if your mate aren’t good you will lose 100% of the time.

My best advice would be to just not play sp in shuffle, if you wanna stick to it regardless try to always drag them away from their healer if you can and don’t overlap your Def CD it’s your only win condition.

Try to bait kick with shadow spell then use mind spike so if you get kicked you can still play the game but care you can’t use swap/disperse. You can use flash heal /pw shield if you get kicked on shadow and shadow/frost to survive the lock out.

For the dispel part it’s what mostly makes sp horrible, there is way too much dispel and aoe dispel in the game and 3sec horrify do nothing at all cause your entire dmg is gone anyway, a lot of people ask blizzard to buff it but they don’t care atm.

Hope it helps but don’t lose your hair in shuffle, you should better play a 3v3 comp such as lock/sp or rps at least these comp works really well and you can have fun.

Thank you for your reply  I was worried that I am just bad :stuck_out_tongue:
I have managed to refine my stats abit by changing gear around

I now have
9% crit
34% haste
9% mastery
35% vers
5% avoidance
5% speed

I figured, since I cant really escape, I don’t actually need the speed. DK? DH and warriors have a lot of aoe damage - especially dh, figured id try avoidance just to make me ever so slightly more tanky. Hopefully I do a lil better now.

People can’t dispel dots for free any more:

  • priest healer can no longer fade dispel in 10.2
  • hunters can’t feign death dots any more
  • DH takes the backlash effect if they reverse dots with protection

The only thing that comes to mind is:

  • they were dwarf/dark iron
  • pala dispelled while in bubble

Cheers

Do pve with your teammate

Then press instant ranged uninterruptable unavoidable unpredictable stun then silence on healer when someone gets low. Can do instant fear after that too but i guess that needs skill

Idk seems pretty easy frankly

Press iceblock or lay on hands if you think you may die idk
maybe you want vanish and cloak of shadows on top of that too? smh

I can suggest that the same as for enhancement shamans: create a DH or a Balance or a Survival hunter and play with that instead of priest . Unfortunately the sh is complicated, and hard to survive under hard comps like arms/dh/paladin etc.
Only chance is the 3v3 where you can find a Frost mage or an affli/destro and a good healer like r druid/monk.
:frowning:

lmfao, okay, go into a solo shuffle lobby as shadow against dh and dk or dh and arms warrior and lmk how that strat goes

there is no easy way to play a wizard into a triple melee lobby. the same happens to melee into a triple wizard lobby. the game goes from the usual zugzug to ‘play exactly how the 1 wizard or 1 melee wants you to, or we lose’

the reality is unless you’re getting a ton of peels from your melee and your healer, you’re gonna have a bad time. again, the same happens in 1 melee triple wizard lobbies. unless your wizard and healer push into their team with you as a melee, you will just lose and there’s nothing you can do about. its pretty much a guaranteed 0-6 unless they have a warlock who doesn’t kite or something like that.

you’re playing the spec that arguably requires the most support and coordination with its team, in the mode where people, even rank 1s, have trained themselves to hold W 99% of the round. Spriest will always be insanely difficult to climb on unless they rework it heavily or buff it to the point that it is nigh unkillable.

For me the best what “worked” was giving up kiting stand still fake cast a bit track there kicks and take the beating
You rotate fear with improve damage cap so it wont break insta (good for getting Dots out ) and feint for 1 sec immunity and damage reduktion ( try too feint the hunt or stuns )

Pro all interrupts and stuns are on you and your team member can play free

Thank you
I was just really confused, I played in a RSS lobby and one round was Resto sham, arms warrior and me (shadow priest) vs Unholy dk, survival hunter and resto druid

The druid had 55dispells that round, which was just crazy to me. The previous round he had like 40something.

The issue with this is that most of the time, your team mates won’t take advantage of this. I’m being cc, and interrupt chained, and yesterday a Resto Shaman let me die cuz instead of hardcasting healing surges on me (he was free to do so since I’m being tunneled with every disruption in the game as usual), he started throwing Lava Bursts instead, and I died wondering WTF is wrong with these people

Wait until you enter a lobby with a DH removing your dots constantly with a passive embedded into their rotation, DKs removing your dots with AMS, and a healer playing with CDless dispel. It’s so fun, and such great game design that blizz forces SPs to hardcast everything, but lets the dumb stuff above untouched in the game
