If I can consume the fire effect with Conflagrate then Shadowflame should be treated like an Immolate and benefit from this talent. It’s stupid design that I have to, as a tank, spend 6 talent points for one ability. You removed Soul Link as a captstone talent so ok what else is a capstone talent for the tank? Conflagrate. You know what I don’t have time to do when 6 enemies are attacking me? Cast times. You know what has a 1.5 sec cast time? Immolate, with talents.
So clearly the design in my eyes is that Shadowflame is supposed to be AOE threat distribution that also allows you to use Conflagrate without having to spend 10 seconds getting spell pushback.
But if that’s the point then the 5 talent points spent into Improved Immolate goes unused.
This is bad game design all around.
Either Backdraft should remove casting time from Immolate all-together and put it on a 6 second CD or Shadowflame’s initial damage or over time damage should be improved by Improved Immolate.
And yes I am aware of the 3 piece set bonus from ST. I do not think it is acceptable game design that I have to wait god knows how many weeks for the RNG to work in my favor for a basic capstone talent to actually be worthwhile to me.
