Shadowlands and allied races

Hey guys,

This post is aimed at getting your guys thoughts and how the allied race system could be improved and if it needs changing at all.

I’ve played wow since classic all the way through to Legion (however I didn’t play much of legion as I fell out of love with wow) now the new expansion trailer has been launched and I’ve been reading a lot into he changes that are coming and it’s the first time in a while that I’ve been excited to play wow again. A big incentive for me to return is the new allied races, these are something I really want to try, but as I understand it, just to unlock one race there is a large amount of grinding to do. Don’t get me wrong I understand that grinding is a part of wow, and I’ve done my fair share of it in the past, but grinding just to play a new race seems odd, especially when these are/will become old content. The last thing I want to do is level up a character, grind rep from an old expansion, just to unlock a race I wana try to then have to lvl up another character to play it. I will be playing shadowlands but farming old rep isn’t something I plan to do, and not having access to a new race is just going to leave a sour taste in my mouth.

I understand that people have worked hard grinding for these races, and it would be interesting to know your thoughts, however I can’t be the only one in my position.

I wouldn’t mind if Blizzard removed the rep restrictions for allied races, even though I had to grind the rep, and in fact, I’m now grinding the rep for Kul Tirans. I think doing the relevant questlines should be enough to reward access to the races, specially since, as you mentioned, people have to level a toon just to unlock the toon they actually want to main.
