Shadowlands class feedback : Retribution focus

You know that until now there is no announcement for Something new. what ever you read in the posts about Retribution paladin for shadowlands are old spells, traits or talents that comming back.
There is no yet something completly new. like for example it was wake of ashes for legion or final verdict for Wod, while some other classes getting new abillities, like Shammy ,lock priest.

I really wait for a new non passive abillity with new name and icon .
Until now it feels like patch change and not actual expansion for retri paladin

Sanctified wrath talent is the trait from azerite

Empyrean Power talent is a trait from azerite a bit reworked

Wake for Ashes baseline , they talk about it as a new feature jeez

Auras, No comment here, passive abillitys are boring and the new retribution aura , pfff imagine pressing an aura like you do in classic and then wait for someone to die to have an effect.

Blessing of Sacrifice , Hammer of Wrath , Sense Undead , Shield of the Righteous , Turn Evil , and Word of Glory

all of them are old abillitys , nothing new . why they show them as expansion features i dont know.

[Healing Hands] new passive talent about lay on hands.
imagine again having a talent in a row that you will never use for pvp because the abillity which gets improved from it is not usable in rated pvp.

nothing new yet. it doesnt feel new expansion yet for retri paladin.

i am waiting to see a new abillity that does something nice and has a nice visual for a 2020 expansion.

legion had new talents. active and passive.
wod had new talents .active and passive.
Until now shadowlands have nothing new, maybe its early , i wait.

From 4PT16 bonus to Baseline then to deleted then to trait then to talent. It’s meh, it’s better baseline, like it used to be !

yeah its disquasting what they actually doing with retri paladin atm and the worst thing is that they present it as ‘‘new cool features’’.
Old rusty abillities gonna get recycled in this expansion .
I cant wait to say to my 2v2 partner in discord please die so my retribution aura can proc.

I am tired of divine purpose
i am tired of fist of justice changing every expansion from minus seconds per holy power to flat 30 and then back to minus seconds per holy power.
i am tired of the old things that come and go all the time.
give us something new, good and cool for retri specc

We had good abilities that I still wish to see back (Exorcism). I’m still waiting for Lothar’s might. And even some great added stuff were taken from us (I liked final verdict, in a way)

If they are going to bring auras back I’d like to suggest they bring a new one to the table.

**Aura of Stupidity:**Range: 40 yards. Enemies casters who stand in the paladins aura suffer minor brain damage and lose 50% mana and intelect. Melee attackers get the debuff “butterfingers” and have a 10% chance of hitting themselfs in the face, getting stunned for 2 seconds and inflict 25% of the damage to themselfs

Pretty please Blizzard, don’t remove Kings and give us back excorcism. That’s all.

Meh, it would get nerfed half way through season 1.

Still… it’s more interesting than anything Blizzard has come up with, right?

Something having a freak factor normally makes it interesting, yes.

Aura of resilience: Depending on your distance from your target you gain a % speed increase.

Aura of Command: Read whatever data mining has revealed a potential aura that gives an extra attack based off your attack.

Aura of Light: MoP 3rd wind but as some re-hashed “holy” thing.

Aura of the Judge: Judgment now grants Long Arm of the Law. “But that’s OP”. I knew you’d say that.

Aura of Uther: You can now cast Exorcism because that is what the paladin is about at its core, reaching the bottom of your target’s soul, whether it is an ally or a foe.

COME ON BLIZZARD, DO SOMETHING UNIQUE!

Just jesting of course, aura of stupidity makes much more sense.

Perfect reply.

The Necrolord covenant ability seems decent for Retribution.

Divine toll is great, but you need 5 enemies for it to be effective, whereas holy just needs 5 targets, whether allies or enemies.

Here is the Necrolord ability for those who missed it.

Vanquisher’s hammer:

Instant, 30 seconds cooldown, deal immediate shadow damage and cause your next Templar Verdict to automatically trigger Divine storm for free.

Good single target damage boost, with AoE finisher. Raiders and PvPers rejoice. Potentially even mythic +.

I don’t think you need 5 enemies, I think you need 3 or more to make it the best talent overall, considering you also get a holy power for each enemy hit, so it’s like an extra TV or DS as well as the judgement damage.
For single target ye, I would pick something else, although we will have to see how everything goes. I still expect Divine Toll to be the best overall, and I even expect it to be gimped a little (maybe to 3 targets instead of 5).

But I’m no authority… I just feel like it seems rather strong when comparing to most of the others.

hmm i could see the necrolord one being slightly better tbh, it offers both ST and AoE, and prolly the best one for a mixed feel.

as the Divine toll… is useless ST wise

Divine toll is really subpar damage. Judgement doesn’t hit hard at all even considering the debuff after and it’s on a 1 min CD. It’s basically an infinitely worse wake of ashes. On single target is just laughable. Literally 1 min CD judgement. No way we take it.

My thoughts too. The Necrolord one seems more flexible and better overall.

do you remember the holypaladin without holypower until cata how boring the gameplay was ? holy light, flash of light spamming nonsense then cataclysm came to the game 90% percents of holy paladins were obsolete trash and another 10% became a god tier of aoe/single target healing at the same time, i loved it skill cap… and now the game evolved to something unique glimmer 2 buttons spam nonsense BFA in nutshell…

I was very dissapointed when i saw that “the jump” from Crusader strike was removed in Cataclysm and was replaced by some dull attack animation. Crusader strike stoped being fun to press. Same goes for divine storm - you used to spin around and now you just raise your weapon.
I had fun playing with old Seal spells, so when they removed them and introduced combo point system, i stoped playing paladin and never really could get back at it (tryed many times). Maybe playing with holy power can be fun, but it just wasn’t in the last 5 expansions.

Baffling that ret still hasn’t received any mobility buffs. Nobody is expecting rets to be zooming around the field like Demon Hunters (with their burst, rets would be OP in PvP if they were) but even so, divine steed is garbage and it prevents ret being truly viable in PvP.

Either give divine speed some snare removal, give it a shorter cooldown or give ret a more reliable snare - a 30 sec CD on an easily-dispelable snare isn’t cutting the mustard.

Agree with everything in this post for Rey’s although giving them all of that might be too much. Can’t give Rets the kind of uptime that DHs get because wings is so terrifying of a CD.

Long arm of the law baseline and hinderance being physical would be huge. Bearing in mind that we get hinderance from Blade if you pvp talent into it. You can always freedom before you steed for slow immunity.
