Shadowlands delayed, Naxxramas patch or riot

Blizzard give me my Naxxies Reeeeeeeee

Like Zelanji said, if anything, forming quest, dungeon and raid groups with other players is the quintessential component of MMO RPG. If you want to be extra pedantic, it’s playing the role of your character in a massive multiplayer envirnonment. That is, having an in character dungeon run, or an in character group pvp encounter are the definitions of MMO RPG. How many wow players actually did that?! I did, but even on an RP server I’m a minority.

I want the naxx-patch next year. This stress isnt good for the game. Wow has the very special feature where you can actually relax within the game and while waiting for new content you can just cool down abit. Enjoy the world, level an alt or a profession (again) or play casually with some friends in the evenings. New content has its charm, but rather delay it then release it earlier. Im gonna play classic for another 40 years so Im in no rush.

I think one of the reasons people are burning through content faster, is because we end up farming it from week 1 a lot. In actual vanilla many guilds would spend the equivalent of the entire of phase 5 progressing through AQ. No guild would clear it all week 1, yet this is now what most guilds do. So we end up spending a lot more time just farming these raids for loot, than any player did in vanilla. It’s not surprising a lot of people burn out of these raids faster than they 15 years ago

I mean, that’s part of the equation, but this is largely compounded by the fact Vanilla lacks the repeat factor of TBC or WotLK. Most of Vanilla’s good points have to do with things you basically get to enjoy only the first time - the leveling experience, the atmosphere, the layout of dungeons etc. Conversely, the massive amount of consumables, world buffs, and the overall mind-numbness of content (even when it’s harder, it’s mostly because of preparation not actual fight complexity) limit the enjoyment people can get from farming it over and over.

I’m not the kind of player who isn’t content with farming a raid, per se. In the past, I farmed places like BT and ICC for months, and didn’t mind it much. But stuff like MC, or even AQ, got me somewhat tired a few weeks into them. I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m 100% confident that, once TBC comes out, I definitely won’t feel like “I just want to beat SWP once and gtfo of here” the same way I feel about Naxx in Classic.
