Shadowlands Discussion (SPOILERS)

That happened in The Frozen Throne, where they went to Lordaeron for an unrelated reason (hunting Illidan).

Not that anybody would notice, HAH

I think that, after the changes, the amount you can run visions right now is quite alright. That being 4-5 times a week. While I’d love to be able to do them much more frequently, that only indicates that I definitely enjoy them.

This might be the best balance in terms of daily/weekly content cap they’ve had since forever. Since Torghast won’t really be affected by any time limitations like visions, it also means that entering will not be a 10-min in-out adventure.

And I don’t know about you, but having my legendary = 7 hour slog ((every day, twice a day)) does not sound like much fun, and would make me hate the tower. No, I’d rather they balance it around 2-5 times a week, with other good daily activities outside of that (that is only assuming the tower takes an hour(+) to complete).

I missed some info so I didn’t realize it at first, but I’m extremely confident Elune is either the Arbiter (who also seems to be a “she”) or the Winter Queen, with it very likely being the latter because of her connection to nature and the fact that we know Tyrande’s gonna show up in Ardenweald. Apparently we even already know what she looks like.

Personally I think this is about the best thing they could’ve gone for in terms of Elune’s identity. Prefer that much over her being a “Light Lord” or whatever.

Also maaaaaybe Blizz will finally free Balance druids from lore limbo now that the Emerald Dream itself no longer stands for balance and death magic or “decay” has been explicitly linked to (the druidic concept of) nature through Ardenweald. Depends on whether they’re willing to give the Balance spec a visual and thematic rework (my guess is no since it requires quite a bit of work + a lot of players who are attached to the sun/moon concept will be angry).

why bother fixing what should be removed

I don’t think they’re even going to reveal what Elune really is.

Elune no, I rather have her stay some unknown deity, whom we don’t even know what she actually looks like.

Why do they always have to explain everything? Can’t we just have some mysterious deity stay mysterious!? D:

But atleast she isn’t a Light-Lord or Old God-Turned-Good or whatever, so I suppose that is a big plus!

I simpy suspect Elune is Azeroth (see Well of Eternity legends and ties). With the sword weakening Azeroth and the grip of the maw tightening on deceased souls, she was unable to aid the kaldorei souls who fell, further fueling into the maw. I could even imagine an aspect of Elune/Azeroth being „dead“ and we meet her in Shadowlands or at least help. I do think the winter queen has ties to her, but won‘t be Elune/Azeroth itself. The Blue-ish Ardenweald colours also remind me of the night warrior eyes.

Haven’t we been meeting (and killing) gods since vanilla?

I feel like WoW isn’t the franchise you’re after if you want enigmatic mystery gods

At the rate Blizzard is going through their lore, I wouldn’t get my hopes up on this sort of thing.

Exactly. It would be outright silly to have Elune be some epic mystery when we know almost every single detail of the ordering of the cosmos, have met and killed Old Gods, Naaru and even Titans, and will soon even be killing “death gods”, for the lack of a better term.

Elune’s identity being revealed sooner or later simply had to happen because at this point the only way she’d remain a mystery was if she actually somehow turned out not to exist at all or if they really really forced it - which would mean they’d have to explain why we still don’t have an idea who she really is despite the things I previously listed.

Honestly, whoever’s saying “Elune should stay a mystery we shouldn’t know everything!!” is just being super silly at this point. Like you said, that’s simply not WoW, especially at this point.

Good.

It’s okay, they just retconned it to make everything a mystery again since all the chronicles are actually just titan propaganda.

Void Lords don’t even exist! Probably. They’re just a bedtime story Aman’thul told to the baby titans to make them abandon worlds to the Legion instead of fighting back.

I’m pretty sure they only said that to explain the whole deal with why we don’t know anything about the Shadowlands and its inhabitants - which is because it predates the Titans.

Lore mysteries are boring and add nothing to RP. I’d rather have everything explained in minute detail.

Looks at Uldaman and Archaedas who has like 10 needlessly lengthy info dumps about very detailed history of the dwarves, troggs and titanforged beings.

The whole “chronicles are written from the Titan pov” is a vague and ad hoc solution to hide what is basically a retcon.

I personally don’t mind the SL lore so far, but definitely it doesn’t feel a lot like what we’ve been ever shown about WoW.

So whats the word out on the streets?

When is this “soon” Ion spoke off in regards to new information arriving?

It’s soon.

Probably a week after the final wing of LFR when interest starts to wane.

Man, thats still ages away😓
