Shadowlands professions are looking okay, but Shadowlands Engineering feels like a carbon copy of BfA. There’s a couple of consumable devices, couple of neat enchants that you might or might not use, and a pet. But there’s not even a mount this time around, at least not yet in beta.
I’d like to see some weird goofy items again, or some added utility!
Engineering could get a campsite like the Vulpera do! Or a submarine… or some explosive variant to gliders! Maybe an updated version of the Gnomish Gravity Well? An actual boat like the one in Thousand Steppes? One where you could fish? Maybe bring back a new type of explosive fishing! Or a drill where you can mine anywhere with a cooldown, with a chance of hilarious failures/results!
There’s a number of really fun, weird and useful items they could give engineering (and other professions!), I hope they consider adding some more.
Ive been quite concerned about this as well. BFA had nothing truly noteworthy beyond Blingtron 7000, the two teleports and the two new mounts.
Legion had a new engineering flagship piece, Reaves. Which they wanted to make different from Jeeves. But yeah, the majorty of the usefulness of Engineering remains in older expansions.
