Ofcourse it’s Discordiankitty.
Nah, nothing can save Shadowlands lore.
It’s NOT World of Warcraft.
I would call it World of FanfictionCraft
I was call it World of Starwars
Well Star Wars did become a bad fanfic with the recent trilogy.
I do not know why almost everyone in the entertainment industry is hiring those hacks who take a beloved long standing brand and mangle its lore in order to “own it” or to fix “problematic elements”
I saw this theory yesterday and found it fairly intriguing. Especially how much evidence there is for it, even if it still seems a bit unlikely.
That said, I’ll say kudos and take back what I said about Danuser if this proves to be true. I’d also then consider actually buying the CE for 10.0 because that would be a lore twist that would give me confidence in future storytelling.
It’s not really saving the lore by doing a Dragonball Z and revealing the highest power wasn’t really the highest power all along, repeatedly.
Well hat’s down for Dan if N’Zoth made us a dream and killed us all before we entered into Shadowlands.
I do not think SL can be salvaged but we can lay a good ground path for whatever is in store for 10.0…WOW will really have to learn its lessons from BFA, SL, and even WOD for 10.0 to be a success, I will not hold my breathe, but we can only hope that the developers have finally realized its time to listen to the players.
It’s a fun theory, don’t get your hopes up.
Blizzard always goes for the classic “we’re good, they’re bad, we kill them. The end.”
I’m still looking forward to the end of this story. If anything, I just need some closure.
It makes the story of Shadowlands better in a vacuum. But combined with the rest of WoW lore, it still doesn’t make any sense
I can see them retroactively doing it just to save face and pretend they planned it all along.
If Primus is the real Jailer then this story makes sense. But he won’t be. I don’t believe it.
The Primus being the Jailer make no sense, first of he was jailed. Second he helped us make legendaries, and there’s a strong lore about his role in Maldraxxus, a lot of NPC connections, he even has an apprentice.
What really is going one I’ve described here, enjoy the read:
Greetings Traveler! Stay a while, and listen. The brilliant strategists and infiltrator known as the Dreadlords were designed by Sire Denathrius as an army, put in the hands of Zovaal his brother whom he helped power up the Maw, escape, take his sigil back, break into the Sepulcher with his very uni-directional plan to tamper with the Pattern of the First ones. A plan set on a doomed path of deafeat, as foretold by many ancient prophecies. All while the dreadlords now continue working on some …
Primus was pretending to be jailed and controlled “Zovaal” all time. makes perfect sense. By letting us forge stong legendaries he would later take their powers and enhance the Crown. but Blizzard can’t write anything remotely that good. Ever. Just next big soulless bad, who has a stupid power fantasy for dominate or destroy everything. So boring.
Have you read this ?
If Shadowlands was a stand-alone expansion, well, it would be a bit of a waste, but limited.
As it is, though, it goes back and rots the whole lore back to Illidan and Arthas, The basic idea of where the Helm of Domination and Frostmourne came from was genius! (Metzen’s famous long-term narrative?) but it was not only wasted here with horrible execution and a complete absence of character, but it managed to go back in time and turn the original great story to toxic sludge.
How can we forgive that?
Blizzard is incapable to connect good story with good game content and there is that retarded raid scene and encounters break any attempt of great class design to happen.
Zovaal was a First Ones’ ‘Ultron’?..I’m cool with it…and looking forward to seeing Daddy Denathrius again, down the line.
However, I’m fairly certain leaving Illydaddy to have some personal time with Sargeras, was probably a massive mistake on our part and will come back to bite us, first.
