Shadowlands lore is saved ( What is Zovaal isn't the True Jailer? )

Lot of people like this wowhead theory and claim it would save Shadowland lore !

if this is actually true , Steve Danuser is the best writer in the world and we don’t deserve him

Well the arbiter is a husk where a soul bind with it and become a being. That’s why the jailer turned into the robot.
We are gathering a new robot for pel… I mean… the new arbiter. :stuck_out_tongue: which is the same structure of Zovaal defeated.
What if: Zovaal is just another attempt went rogue? how many arbiters / jailers are around? :man_shrugging: Who knows. It all depends of the mind of the writers.
Personally? Drop SL and focus to the devaure… I mean… the new expansion whatever would be.

Honestly, this theory sounds brilliant. If it comes true, Shadowlands is not anymore bad but merely “underrated”.

It’s always tempting to reach for the complicated – yet brilliant – fan theory that puts all the little pieces together to form a spectacular mosaic where everything just fits perfectly.

But if experience has taught me anything, then it is that Blizzard rarely goes that route themselves.

They always pick the simplest story.

Remember N’zoth? Remember all the theories about his master plan and how he had already foreseen everything and how it was all going to culminate in us being awoken and truly seeing for the first time and…Then we just kill him.

Many lore speculators have broken their neck, figuratively speaking, by attributing far more depth to the story than Blizzard does themselves… cough Pyromancer cough

Cool if it happens that Blizzard has some brilliant twist that has the entire community lose their collective minds, but let’s not stir the kindling of hope here, because that’s just foolish. We’ve been here before.

The story of Shadowlands is crap. Blizzard are free to try and prove otherwise. But they don’t get the benefit of the doubt.

Which is why it isn’t true.

Look, in order to understand Shadowlands you have to read all the supplementary books and other materials, which nobody does. Steve Danuser is a famed expert in doing this - and he is also famed for failing at it.

Either he has to stop doing it or he has to be reassigned. Simple as that.

Completely stupid theory. We defeated the Jailor already and he very clearly said that there is something in the galaxy that is coming for us. If he was not the the true jailor why would he say that? So… is the jailor somewhere in the galaxy and not where… he was imprisoned? The jailor was clearly just a pawn and the dreadlords are the real evil.

I like this theory because it make sence

but as someone said in comment section there
blizzard writing is not that DEEP anymore
i wish this was the story of shadowlands
it would be way way better then what we have right now with no explanation
but it’s not first time that FAN theory is making more sence and is way better then the original story

It’s an okay theory, still doesn’t make it better that we are playing an expansion for more than a year now with a lore that doesn’t make any sense without people making cool theories out of it. It also doesn’t help help that SL introduced characters that we know barely anything about, and now they are taking credit for everything that happened outside of the Shadowlands.

I fail to see how this is brilliant in any conceivable way. Is it slightly better than what the reality is? Probably. But it’s hardly groundbreaking.

The very concept of the Shadowlands is horrible, and Primus being the Jailer instead of Zovaal doesn’t change that, nor does it change the fact that the Shadowlands exist in its current form and that Zereth Mortis exists.

Pls no. Just let it go away!

hmm even if we entertain this blogpost hottake it’s still bad
the problem with shadowlands lorewise is all the stuff that came before it that it destroys just to try and make sense of itself
this theory does not amend that so just as bad as the original story

Lets reassign him to his own special room in Torghast, where he can write all the bad lore he wants and nobody has to live through it again.

Trapped by my own creation
I rose so much but in the end I fell
No heroes here, they have gone to where there’s gear inflation
I languish here, in the Hells of Hell

  • Danuser in Torghast, probably

PS: My prose sucks. Do not replace Danuser with me, I’ll make it even worse.

Honestly, I will get a lot of mileage out of levelling a couple of vulpera :joy_cat:

Trouble is, I’m going to have to start doubling up on classes because I have one of everything I want already…

They just did not have jailer model ready in 2019 so they used undead male with some chains just to have smth to show. Which look obvious even for ally player. Thats it. This is just wishfull thinking that gives them idea which is good in a way. They allready made alot based on players ideas. Just watch out what you wish for.
