Please help me selecting a main is SL.
I will tank dungeons. If it is necessary, would tank in raids too, but most probably will use a dps offspec for that. I’m 100% sure, I will not heal.
Now for the tanks.
I would like to choose from the plate specs. The question is, when I’m not tanking who willhave the better experience? Solo questing, torghast,soloing elites, pugging as dps? Maybe some bg pvp?
Nobody, not even Blizzard, has ANY clue about how the classes will stack up in Shadowlands.
You can watch the talking heads on YouTube discuss the classes as they are now, in the Alpha, but everybody knows there will be big changes between now and launch.

Choosing now is a very bad idea. Just level every tank class to 120.

Personally I’m looking forward to Vengeance in SL. I love all the self healing, the mobility, and in Shadowlands they’re getting Fel Devastation, which is basically a Vengeance eye beam.
I know it’s not plate, but if you want a tank that’s fun to play and effective, I’d recommend them for sure.

This sounds good, but that would mean that I would have to dps as havoc, when not tanking. My brain cells would be suicidal.
I completely understand, which is why I just use my DH for tanking and nothing else. Played Havoc for 5 minutes and the skin started to melt off my face.
