Shadowlands = Matrix?

So the shadowlands are supposed to be the afterlife but it seems more like a next layer of existence where your consious/soul gets beamed at and you get reincarnated into this"matrix"

when you see a venthyr die you can clearly see that his “essence” goes out of his body into the sky and when you look at the sky in oribos it looks like you are underwater

i believe the shadowlands are not the end?

It seems simply like a bad copy of D&D’s Shadowlands.

  1. It’s name obviously.
  2. Different “dimension”.
  3. The soul split with the bad part staying on the mortal realm

However, sadly I believe this is the end. The new team is simply not good and they don’t have interesting ideas.

It is a different plain of existence perhaps like the Nether in WoW.
