Shadowlands refund...!

Hi there,

So once Shadowlands was on the store i went on and purchased the epic edition, now after a month or two i found out that i might be traveling to another country and i wont have time to play, besides connection issues i had with wow that caused issues with my raiding so i came to conclusion i wont have time nor the good connection to enjoy the expansion so i wanted to refund it but i got shocked by battlenet reply!

So apparently the version that comes gametime CAN NOT be refunded. first i didnt have a choice to use the gametime or not it just was added to my time automatically second i even offered to charge my account with the cost of the game time so they deduct it and refund the whole amount since they said it cant be partially refunded.

so if this is the case that you forcing people who buy the Epic edition to not refund… just say its non refundable edition coz you didnt give me a choice to use the game time or not, you forced me to use it. is this how battlenet support an old player who played thousands of hours either on WOW or Diablo 3 or Heroes of the storm, Hearthstone, Destiny 2 and others!? THIS IS JUST SAD!

You, a human being, conciously bought a product.
A Game, Game time, and extra’s as a bundle
This is one set. One product
You already used part of that product.

It makes sense you didnt get a refund.
Now honestly, if you still have game time, and you didnt do anything, AT ALL with your entire bundle. They shouldnt be such a B-word and just refund your product.

HOWEVER

From what i can see in your post:

And

The Epic edition has been released for over 4 Months( 3 months? When exactly was blizzcon)?
So Not only is your purchase atleast 3 months old, you used part of it already. Lets say at the release of the new patch You probably played around a bit with a DK, You had your fun with the Mog set and the questline. You fly around on your Mount and you used the game time that came with the product.

Noone forced you to buy this product. And since day 1, If you buy game time in the store its added to your account. Its not a button you click to activate it. It has been like that since the dawn of the blizzard store.

Its kinda your own fault for pre-order

You can always freeze your game time.

Edit: 3 replies saying “You can’t”, ofc you can’t do it manually. I’ve heard ppl contact Blizzard multiple times and they freeze it for you.

Buyers remorse costs the retail industry billions each year, and they are cracking down on it. A lot of stores are now only refunding items that are faulty.

Shadowlands is not faulty because it does not yet exist.

You used the gametime part of the package deal.

Why should they refund you, just because you changed your mind? Absorb your own losses, and learn from your own choices.

Wait what ? you can freeze game time ?

You know… the reality that his scentence exists and makes sense hurts a part of my brain.

But so far everyone is right. You used part of it already so… See this is why you don’t preorder things. especially a year in advance.

You Cant.

What you can do is ‘’ stop playing’’ make a ticket before hand and get the game time refunded.

I myself could not play 2 months in a row, and reported that to blizxzard before i left. They ‘’ refunded’’ the game time aslong as i did not touch wow at all during that time

you can’t freeze game time but afaik you can still freeze the account as a whole and that includes Gametime. Or at least you could. Idk if it’s still possible, haven’t checked in years

So much this ^^^

Who knows what life is gonna throw at them over the next 12 months? 6 months?? 3 months??

It’s not even as if the game is gonna run out of stock if people waited till a month or a week before pre patch to pre purchase it’s and yet they still do it and then still complain when things go wrong and they can’t get a refund because they have used some of the consumables that came with the purchase.

“Hi I purchased this sandwich at 6am for lunch and ate the cucumber straight away but now want a full refund because I’m not actually hungry, I don’t like tuna, I heard bad things about the egg mayo…”

It’s not even that  As of right now, all we have seen of Shadowlands is some concept art. Ideas on how systems might work at some point down the line if things don’t change.

I’ll never understand why people preorder so early. At the very least wait until you’ve seen some Beta footage. So you have a minimum of information that can give you an idea of what’s actually coming.

Because guess what: After you’ve seen that and were able to actually make a somewhat borderline informed descicion, those bonuses will still be there.

Not that i have anything against fanboy-ism. F*ck, I’m a fanboy myself and not ashamed to admit it. But you can be both a Fanboy and smart about your money.

None of this inane drivel has a basis in reality

Good points! Probably a mix of both tbf, we don’t know the game or whether life will throw a massive curve ball making the purchase a complete waste of money

I ordered early because I wasn’t buying “Shadowlands” per-se. I was buying a boost and some goodies, that just so happened to come with “Shadowlands”

Whoa, hold your horses guys. It is almost, as preordering things shouldnt be taken lightly!

and in to months when it’s still half a year to release but we actually know what’s coming, do the pre order bonuses dissapear? What would you loose out on with waiting for some footage?
I mean sure, if you’re gonna buy it anyways, it doesn’t matter in the long run. But that than also applies to waiting. What do you gain from buying it at a stage where all we know are some basic ideas that are subject to change and all we have seen are some pretty, but 100% staged, pictures?

If you have bought a decent number of WoW expansion and you were never disappointed to the point of regretting your purchase why shouldn’t you pre-order?

I am almost 100% certainly going to buy Shadowlands. But I am not going to pay money for something I haven’t even seen. Not if absolutely nothing is at risk when i wait for, well… anything. anything at all that resembles reliable information and gameplay.

We know Torghast is coming. Aside from covenants, it’s THE absolute central theme of Shadowlands.
So were islands and Warfronts for BfA.

…and disgusting business practices costs consumers billions every year in absolute sub-par products, everywhere you look.

I think it’s evened itself out nicely.
Imagine unironically supporting the retail industry…lmao

I understand your point, but since I am buying it anyway and forget about it since I am probably playing it regardless.

Of course if some are not sure they should wait

i mean why would you buy the most expensive version of an expansion that is far far away ? i have only bought 2nd expensive version cuz i wanted to access death knight allied races now .
