Shadowlands story is bad.
Turbo garbage level bad. Undergrands would come up with something better. Please Blizzard hire some competent writers.

And here we all thought WoD was bad
It was, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make bad stuff twice.
Yes, but have you considered that… uh…
…
Yeah.
WoD made Azeroth just a small (though I guess important?) part of a grand multiverse. Without that step, a afterlife that had so little to do with Azeroth as the Shadowlands did would have been pretty much unthinkable. The Shadowlands story might have been bad anyways, it largely was in WoD, but at least it probably wouldn’t have felt as alien and uninvolved, if it wasn’t for that. We can all stomach a bad story, WoW has had them for a long time. But the way Shadowlands feels has been a breaking point for quite a few people. We can stay here and have fun obsessing over lore that we always knew could be retconned any time, as long as they still give us something to care about. Shadowlands didn’t.
The alliance should be deleted. That would make the story interesting.
Big issue with story in WoW is that with each expansion a huge part of it gets obsolete. We killed the Lich King - the scourge became no longer a problem. We defeat the Legion, the old gods and even parallel universes.
And every time there needs to be a follow-up and something new, something bigger, something more evil while the old parts of the game are dead.
There needs to be a re-thinking of how content works in WoW.
I wonder if they were looking to make Sylvanas the arbiter and give her a Kerrigan like treatment but with the backlash they been getting over her arc, they decided to go with Pelegos.
Also how many of you screamed at Bolvar when he decided to take the Primus’s sigil right upto the Jailer’s doorstep… No wonder he got his butt handed to him by Sylv
Since I had no understanding of the stakes (and still haven’t got it, really…) and was mildly more interested in meeting the Primus than in winning some cosmic bs war, I certainly didn’t. They didn’t get me invested enough for that.
Don’t worry! The jailer has a plan for everything. But just wait, next expansion everything is planned and prepared by The secretary, or The train conductor. It could be anyone!
We’ll have to cross realities again and fetch Scooby Doo and the gang in order to solve this mystery before it’s too late!
Ye, Zereth mortis looks abandonned, first ones left the robots in charge. They clearly abandoned their creation, as there is no evidence of their current presence. Maybe that is the whole point of the story, gods realized their creation failed and left it to rot. And that is a mistake, as some thing can not be fixed, they must be destroyed, maybe they could not destroy their creation, and were tired of trying to fix it so instead they left it be. I mean being God is a serious responsibility its not just sitting on some cosmic throne and pondering things. Maybe we are incarnations of first ones, like our characters, they incarnated to learn more about their creation. It would explain why we are so special and why First ones relics react to us, we are the first ones after all.
I doubt it, I’m maining a Mag’har orc. By the very definition I’m not a first one. I’m a second or third depending on timelines.
What is really bad is alliance bias. It needs to be dismantled so that the Horde can rise do become the dominant faciton for good. The alliance needs to die so that the Horde can live.
Well they just shat on Arthas one last time. Nice one Blizz. It’s like the people writing the story never even played Warcraft 3 & WotLK.
They’re hopeless.
All that bait with the Afterlives Cinematic and hints all scattered around for us to get some absolute bull from Sylvanas who took 90% of the Dialogue time in the Cinematic.
Bugger me this is so lame.
“Let the past die. Kill it if you have to.”
I am glad Arthas is gone. He deserved worse for what he did to Azeroth.
Stratholme, Betraying Horde Race Mercenaries & burning his expeditionary forces ships down are the only bad things he did. And it was incredibly dark time, with War / Plague of Undeath spreading across the land. That can change a person. But that mentality came from an incredibly strong desire to save his Land & people.
The moment he came into contact with Frostmourn. After that it’s not Arthas. I mean it is Arthas, but he’s not himself, he is being manipulated, controlled, twisted and driven mad eventually into Death Knight Arthas.
According to the same logic of the Story in SL’s, Sylvanas was no longer herself at all after being killed & raised with Frostmourn. The same applies to Arthas for when he obtained Frostmourne.
