I can’t be the only one who’ve noticed that the amount of loot drops in Shadowlands dungeons and raids are way lower than in previous expansions.
This made sense when Shadowlands was the current expansion, since the gear had a direct impact on player power. But now that Shadowlands content is considered redundant and outdated, the loot only has value for transmog farming. And farming transmogs from this expansion is simply a drag.
Shadowlands xmog farming is already challenging as it is considering the difficulties of soloing the raids of an expansion that’s so recent. Add this to the fact that you only get gold from a majority of the boss kills most of the times, which makes the whole experience just feel like a waste of time. This is a shame since a lot of the gear in Shadowlands looks really cool and I’m sure a lot of people would like to get their hands on it for their transmog collections.
To incentivize and encourage transmog farming in Shadowlands, would it be possible to increase the loot drops in Shadowland raids and dungeons to make it on par with content in previous expansions?
They have not switched on the Legacy loot mode for SL instances yet. In theory it should happen with TWW but they have not kept their “two expansions ago” promise lately so not sure how long they will take with it.
I agree it feels bad. Cannot be a difficult switch to flip either.
Everything in SL feels like it’s deliberately done in such a way to cost more time than other xpac’s equivalents.
From traversing to collecting, everything takes much longer. It’s awful. I hate it. I hate what they’ve done to the lore, I hate that we’ve seen heaven/hell and how it’s become meaningless.
BUT, since Legacy Loot will be enabled for TWW, you should now get more loot when soloing raids. So there’s that.
I agree Shadowlands is very slow. Don’t get me wrong I’m extremely happy the changes in the TWW Pre-Patch means I only need to do each Covenant Campaign instead of once per armour type + Demon Hunters/Others for specific Weapons they were unable to use (Four campaigns compared to minimum 16).
I’ve definitely spent a lot of the Anima I was hoarding/slowly gaining through Dragonflight, over 200k.
The Good News:
All Campaign Weapons/Armour can be bought/learnt by a Character who has completed that Covenant Campaign.
All of The Ember Court Weapons/Armour can be bought/learnt by a Character who has done their Ember Court.
The Bad News:
Court of Night Ensembles only show for each Armour type (Plate/Mail/Leather/Cloth) so you still need one of each Armour Type for these (and they cost 25k Anima). Thankfully I already had done this back in SL.
Path of Ascension Armour Ensembles also seem to follow The Ember Court and require individual Alts of each type to learn/show.
The Ugly:
Lots of people’s progress on Shadowlands (and other Expansions) achievements appear to have been reset with Pre-Patch and right now are unable to be re-earned.
Anima-Touched Weapon Fragments are still not Warbound and having 500 split between four Characters is very sad.
Maw Events (Tormentors of Torghast) don’t seem to have a progress bar for the event, or just plain don’t function anymore. This could be a lack of people but I’m yet to see a boss for these spawn.
Some Rares such as Inquisitor Yorik seem to have scarily long spawn despite no longer being spam murdered back in Chains of Domination
Shadowlands Reps for Death’s Advance/Ve’nari are extremely slow with amounts such as 40/100 being the average for Ve’nari. Death’s Advance has three dailies (assuming your Alts didn’t do the Campaign) and should show five. Also bonus Death’s Advance Rep Tokens from quests appear to be decreasing Rep instead of giving extra.
Reputation Tokens also decrease Reputation with other Bonus Tokens (The Avowed in this case). I had the buff from the Bell and was gaining 100 from a kill and instead of gaining 80 additional Reputation it was decreasing it, so instead of 180 gained it was 20.
Kyrian Path of Ascension appears to only require one Character to complete it (for the most part). I did this tonight and was able to buy everything but the sets on my Warrior and the sets were unlocked on Cloth, Leather and Mail Alts to purchase.
HOWEVER the Trial of Humility awards the 2nd Set from POA. If you complete this on one Character, you get the Cloth, Leather, Mail and Plate items for the corresponding Humility Trial. Unfortunately, you don’t get the alternate Cloaks for some reason (I’m assuming/hoping this is a bug), so despite being able to get everything else with one Character you would need to upgrade your Sanctum to Rank 5 and do all the quests again on each Alt to get their cloaks.
Wouldn’t that (Legacy Loot for Shadowlands) have been activated in the pre-patch if that was the case? I tested this like a week ago and the drop rates were still atrocious compared to other expansions.
I feel like you are Few years behind in this
we already bombarded blizzard with this during first 6 months of that trash expansion
and when i look at DF we actually won
