Shadowlands - Void Form and Legacy are worth saving

Hello everyone.

For a long time, I have been fighting to keep the Void Form in game, as I cannot imagine (even after so many years playing without it) Void Form being gone.
I love the play style, I love the visuals, I love everything about it. It brings whole new experience and uniqueness to the class.

I know many people hate Void Form (which is something I respect, not everybody has to like it of course), but there is ALWAYS a choice, always. That is why those, who like Void Form as much as I do, need to raise their voice and fight with us.

There are many people who enjoy Void Form as it is and that’s why we must fight for Legacy of the Void to be the original and unique Void Form we want and need. I have posted many things regarding saving Void Form (and that’s why Legacy needs the right rework) in order for it to feel like it does now.

I would like to ask everyone who likes Void Form and would love to stay it in the game as we know it as of right now to watch this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LDdg3fwslc
There are many shadow priest buddies that are fighting for it, and Nyelle is one of them, for me, the most inspirational Shadow Priest player I have ever met.
Please, watch this video, raise your voice and join us in order to save Void Form. Let the developers see that THIS is the game play style for Shadow Priest we want.
As I said before, it is always about a choice - Shadow Priest CAN have that choice (Void Form / No Void Form) , but for now, it favours the option of ā€œNo Void Formā€ and whatnot.

Let’s save the Void Form and Legacy of the Void together !

As long as it’s tuned under the rest of the spec.

I agree! Void Form is the single coolest looking spell in the game. :metal:

Of cause cool visuals isn’t good if the core gameplay is bad, which I think it is in BFA, but seeing the new changes I am HYPED!

Making it a 2min CD instead of a ā€œresource spellā€ is the best change to Shadow Priest. Of cause… sadly it means we see less of Void Forms awesome visuals… but it paves the way to a MUCH better core rotation and gameplay style.

So keeping Void Form AND getting a much better playstyle is a big win in my book :ghost: :space_invader:

the thing is, if you can choose between current SP on beta and a bfa voidform talent, one will be always better than the other. and ppl will need to play the better talent.

as an arena player i am so glad voidform is gone. sure it looks pretty, i like the tentacles and the animations, but getting to high stacks while being trained by 2 melees or being constantly ccd by rmx is not easy and honestly doesnt feel good.

now i can build my insanity and spend it on DP, which feels great!

someone else mentioned it like this: if everything goes right, voidform is insanely strong and fun. but if you can not fight against the insanity drain, you do no dmg.

so i hope they will NOT bring voidform back. i even hope they delete legacy of the void. i dont want to play that kind of SP ever again. it just doesnt work

I really hope they do.

Are you sure about that?
Because top tier M+ shadow’s and raiders say the exactly opposite.

Now though, Shadow priest would be as OP as huntards/mages IF the stacks where not fading out of combat inside M+. That would be an amazing change to make shadow priest alot better in M+ and remain the same in raiding.

I’ve done 23/24s in M+ and im also 12/12M. I would happily say that SP’s current iteration works well in some places and terribly in others. And the only reason it works well in some places right now is due to obscene amount of borrowed power we get through Chorus and Corruptions.

The Beta iteration is miles ahead of the Live version of SP.

Is there a spec ingame that works perfect in every aspect of it?
If you exclude the two most broken mage/hunt that blizzard gave to people so content will be cleared fast and easy, no there is not.

SP would work PERFECTLY and everywhere if the stacks did not fade out of combat, but blizzard listened to the whiners that cant push stacks because they are used to play huntards/dhuntards ETC and its dumbing down the spec so everybody can enjoy it.

yeah… no its not.

The issue was the amount of time it took to get off the ground. By making it so stacks never diminish, you would just need to have 1 good voidform, get high stacks and never enter Voidform again. That would be highly abusable. As for ā€˜dumbing down the spec’, there is exceptionally little about SP at the moment that is even remotely difficult.

I’m interested in hearing why you think that is, along with an example of situations where Live SP would outperform Beta/PTR SP.

No matter what at a point you cant hold your voidform forever. You are bound to loose it and re-enter.
The problem is that SP is loosing dps when tank for example sets a 3 sec timer on a boss, or the healer has to drink, or someone dead returning ETC ETC.

By having stacks to remain when out of combat nothing can be abused, if you think it can tell me how because i fail to understand the way.

Nope its not difficult, but voidform high stacks is a challeging gameplay.
Holding on 3 dot’s like BETA is and casting a voidform on CD is even more dumbed down, like a DH with dot’s.

well to me Voidform is Fun Gameplay. New SP plays like Ele Shaman and i hate it. Main Issue now is that Blizzard didnt realy change many Classes coming out of BFA so everything that sucked in BFA will suck in SL for me

I get it why People dont like VF but this rework did nothing but destroy the fun of the spec for me.

Apologies, I’d read your inital post incorrectly. True, having stacks only deplete when you entered combat could work, but I could see it being riddled with issues such as the combat bug and chain pulling. Current iteration SP would still suffer from it’s issues on short-burst add fights or open world where you can’t build up enough stacks for it to be meaningful.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind the current VF gameplay, I’ve just played a lot of SP prior to the Legion revamp and I’m glad we’re returning to basics with it. We feel like a far more complete class which gives Blizz a great foundation to build on to flesh out our spec without having to rely on convoluted systems and gives us way more bredth of capability in various forms of content. I understand that it’s not for everyone and can see the appeal of the current style of play.

Well i did not, maybe that has to do something with me loving VF.

Still i think that change is a bit extreme, if stacks would remain out of combat would not change SP raiding output and would make shadow as good as a mage is right now in M+

I got no problem with VoidForm, I actually like the gameplay. Its fun.
What I hate is Shadowform. I wished that one would go away and never come back.

Ahh this post makes it easy to see shadow veterans and rookies

I for one do like the rework, it has made us so much more flexible, and it puts us more in line with the other classes.

The only things I would like to see changed is the talent Unfurling Darkness, and the baseline passive Dark Thoughts.
I would rather see Unfurling Darkness just remove cast time from VT and only that, removing the damage and the 15 secs reproc
Dark thoughts should proc from dot damage rather than MF/MS damage

amazing how you can spot Veterans and Rookies from People liking/dislking Voidform

was challanging in legion… its not challanging in BFA.

BFA boils down to spamming 3 buttons Slightly faster continously…

Yes i do agree with you here, because ive never seen a shadow priest that had conquered the content in M+ and raiding dislike VF so far.
Only people with 2-3 HC kills that obviously failed to adapt.

For whom the bell tolls…

Its actually the other way around, in legion haste stacks where alot fatter so in BFA with less haste it actually makes it more challenging to maintain it up.

Sure, keep spamming that mind sear. Road to success!!

mind sear isnt 3 buttons Lmfao.

Its the only thing you can spam, cpt obvious strikes again!
