Except that Im freshly dinged level 60. Im not going to do campaings and Zereth Mortis for days. Disgusting. I simply wait DF and level all other Classes to 60 instead.
Dragonriding should be something that carries on after expansion. In fact every expansion should have something player can complete, without it becoming a chore or tied to power ofc.
ZM Campaign takes 3-4 hrs, Covenant campaign takes about 3-4 hrs, getting 4k cosmic flux + 4k flux for your 2 legendarys takes about 8 hrs.
Depending your gaming session’s it can be done without a day or two
Ofcourse as soon as you did ZM campaign once and achieved rep, and you did Covenant campaign once, you never have to do them again for any other character.
If you start this late in an expack, there’s always a little bit of story to do.
If Shadowlands continued and the flux neccessity dropped (like ashes/cinders) I am sure it’ll be even eassier to obtain.
I enjoyed shadowlands , the covenants were good fantasy points .
Liked most of the dungeons the only issue was some of them where to long like dos or soa .
Castle Nathria 10/1o raid for me .
It would be lovely if there was an item that could be obtained via a vendor or quest with (on use option) to boost the drops for an hour of genesis motes, anima,
etc. It might make it easier to focus the farm and feel a bit more progress.
That way a player could choose when to spend an hour farming and feel like they are making progress towards one of the items.
Would have been helpful if the raid only items could be purchased off the AH for non-raiders to get.
Imo it is still better than parking your character for hours at a time watching Netflix (not playing the game) while camping some rare for an rng drop.
Are you okay?
Cause it is seriously concerning if this is what your brain decided to elaborate after reading my reply.
My point was that Thorgast needed to be a game mode way mode deep and meaningful than just “go in for legendary mats” and extending thorgast power to open world is not something that would have made any difference.
Especially because:
And if this is what triggered you then i am sorry, you don’t need to be a minmaxer over whatever else you tried to imply to see that open world content is already something not difficult at all.
Powercreeping characters in something non challenging does nothing in terms of fun. As you said already:
Wow such a gameplay improvement right. I can make things explode even faster now, as if they were not already melting already.
There is no point to start them now. Got half Classes to 50 already. So best time to get everything ready for DF. 3 weeks and all current content becomes irreversibly irrelevant.
That sort of killed my willingness to do them on multiple alts. Heck, I even neglected them on main starting this spring.
If they were auto pickup like emissaries and could be turned in at Oribos, that would have been nice.
Also a couple “kill 1 rare (elite) mob” like in BfA. Those were quick even on multiple toons and were worth it especially when you got a good gear piece reward like a weapon (which were CRAZY rare in BfA, I thanked God when I actually got a usable weapon for a caster and not just an offhand over and over again).
Or… they genuinely did not enjoy it.
I know, I have been THAT person.
I already knew going in that I didn’t like the themes or setting of the Shadowlands. I had never had the desire to go there and what they did with it, ruined the mystery of ‘death’.
Except that no covenant truly represented MY character and her fantasy/theme.
They were all these creepy dead things and none of it appealed to me for what I want my character to be in WoW (same goes for most of the skills - and claiming that they are probably more than a new class added up is completely disingenuous because that’s something you could never do; you had 2 at most at any one time).
I absolutely hate Torghast. It’s the most bottom-of-the-barrel content Blizzard has made in a long time. The place itself was ugly and depressing. Most of the powers were boring and not fun (yeah, I play BM hunter).
It WRECKED the mystery of death. It made EVERYTHING about WoW’s afterlife depressing. I don’t want to ‘just be fuel’ for the machine of death. Really, no. I’d rather just have NOTHING after I die then. This is a HORRIBLE fate.
Only part that moved me was the death of Ursoc and that was in a 2d cinematic before Shadowlands started. The rest was meh at best and made me feel indifferent.
I hated most of them. BfA had great zones; those I loved. The Shadowlands zones were depressing to be in for the most part.
Couldn’t care less whether they’re here or not. I don’t PvP.
NO. It’s not. It’s actually very very bad and it’s killing raiding attendance.
The zone I hate more than any other. Argus is in second place, but it doesn’t come close to the straight down torture that the Maw was. It’s HORRIBLE. Gaming is supposed to be FUN. Not a chore. Not torture. Not irritating. This zone was all of that. Worst. Zone. ever.
There’s MY thoughts. Not objective, but then again neither were your opinions (and that’s fine, we can disagree).
I stopped playing SL altogether some weeks ago and cancelled sub over holiday period then re-subbed to ‘mess about’ on WOTLK for a while but then got the ‘seen it all/done it all before’ boredom syndrome and cancelled again.
I’m not that enthusiastic about forking out £39.99 for DF just to go through the same old grinding mill again with the same old chars, it’s all looking a bit dusty and dated now.
If I may add, for me at least Zereth Mortis was a masterpiece and I still can’t get over how amazing of an experience it was. I’m pretty much done with the content there but I keep revisiting with all my alts, just because I flat out love everything about it.
You, Are. Going. To. LOVE. Dragonflight. They took Zereth Mortis, scaled it up, put in a little geographic and climate variation, and called it good.
And incidentally, I have to retract my earlier comment about ALL Shadowlands zones being at the bottom of my list. I keep forgetting ZM because I find it so forgettable. ZM is nowhere near the best of the Classic zones, or Northrend, or Legion, or … but it is not actively unpleasant to be in.
Well, for me ZM is boring, because it feels soulless with server sharding, no world pvp (or really low wpvp), and I dislike the sterile theme. The mini games are cute the first 20 times, but it was way too grindy overall, and got old at some point, when we had to grind flux.
The Rep and the Flux grind in ZM ruined the zone for me, and I feel negative emotions. I got probably burnt out on ZM in season 3.
It’s better than outland zones, but it doesn’t come close to vanilla zones, northrend, BFA zones, and broken isles. In BFA they nailed the world pvp part, and it was fun af. The problem with BFA were all those crap slot machine systems
covenants forcing to choose meta… As warrior dps, I was forced to be venthyr at first, then ardenweald. then bastion.
anima farm is boring.
questlines story is boring first time i hate make leveling with storyline…
An expansion with the theme of the dead reverted to the theme of robots, it was ridiculous.
It’s called the end of warcraft 3 story. But I think it was an insulting ending. I do not accept this ending. warcraft 3 was an epic story. I think it should have said 2.0 after wow legion.
torghast fixed too late it was very, very pointless at first.
still not renewing the mage tower is a very big deficiency in my opinion, a mage tower challenge should come in every new expansion, suitable for the new expansion theme, its name may be something else. but epic solo should be rewarded with a challenge. I don’t understand why they insist on not doing it anyway.
Shadowlands took its place as a really boring expansion for me. I had more fun even in warlords of draenor.
