shadowlands is hot garbage, the opening patch and castle lasted 9 months that was horrendous as the maw/torghast was the only things outside off the gearing threadmill, convoke and fire mages oneshotting players in pvp season 1 was hilarious just like aoe cap in season 1 making m+ very tilting unless you’re an uncapped fire mage
sanctum had the worst borrowed power in wow history with the worst 2nd to last boss in KT just in general after painsmith that raid felt lacking, korthia wasnt that enganging and after waiting for 9 months patch 9.1 just sucked in general and while the sexual allegations towards blizzard didnt help stop the mass exodus at that time
Sepulcher was arguably the hardest raid in wow when it launched, forcing players to obtain 4 set and gear up as much as possible when the 6th boss in the raid that being halondrus requiring 200+ pulls for WF raiders that says enough
Of course if your an casual that doesnt engage in pvp,m+ or raid its an fun expansion, who doesnt love themself an frog soulshape or the amount off collectables
it was never dangerous nor intimidating… it was annoying, not being able to mount except for druids and worgens. But nothing beats the birds in ZM though…
Came from nowhere, no backstory at all, next expansion he will be forgotten. He doesn’t even have a server named after him.
They finally blew up that piece of scrap?
which one gives me more power? Done, I’ll go there. Thanks WoWHead.
Don’t know if it’s a Troll post, but for one Shadowlands did certainly bring in some good systems and QoL improvements.
However, the story was by far the worst it’s ever been. Zones were done really good and were gorgeous, but they didn’t feel like Warcraft at all… idk how to explain that.
What really did kill SL was it’s lack of content and content drought. I think SL was the point when WoW finally succumbed to it’s age and Blizzard acknowledged that. Hence why way less content and smaller patches then they used to be. I don’t expect DF will change anything in this regard.
Not sure what is not to understand about having to create 4 chars of the same spec to enjoy covenants. You can of course disagree, but not understanding goes a bit far.
Well I don’t understand why you’d have to make 4 of the same class to “enjoy covenants”.
Even at launch you could change covenants if you wanted, you’d have to invest exactly the same amount of time in a new covenant as your new character would.
You could also just play an alt of any other class to “enjoy” a different covenant. Unless you’re referring to using class specific covenant abilities. Which again, I don’t understand why you wouldn’t just pick the one you “enjoy” and play that. Unless you’re referring to playing the most competitive covenant in terms of throughput and utility over playing one you “enjoy” in which case I don’t understand why you live your life that way. Unless you’re referring to playing the game as means of income so that you’re forced to always make the most competitive choice in which case I don’t understand why you’re complaining about not “enjoying” it, it’s a job, so get back to work.
Hope that explains why I don’t understand that criticism.
this statement is incorrect, at the start of shadowlands once you chose an covenant it was locked, could you swap over to another covenant? sure that was instant, but if you wanted to rejoin that covenant you left it took you 2 weeks, personally know 3-4 players that didnt vibe with the covenant system at all and just dipped, we can talk about conduit energy and how that was restrictive or the insanely bad loot progression 9.0 had until 9.0.5 which brought valor but thats an discussion for another day
No you couldn’t Normal covenant switching came after 1 year in the expansion.
Because there were multiple i enjoyed. So i did what you said; i picked the ones i enjoyed and had to level multiple chars of the same spec for that. Has nothing to do with competitevness.
It wasn’t locked my guy. You could do exactly what you said, change to another covenant whenever you wanted and lose your progress.
Only matters if you planned on switching back again. They improved the system for sure but you weren’t locked into anything. You could play whichever covenant you wanted at any time.
lil bro i’m unsure if you understand what was said but ‘‘play whichever covenant you wanted at any time’’ is just not how the game released, maybe you started in 9.1.5 when the covenant restrictions where lifted but you where hardlocked on release for specific reasons, if you didnt belong to the covenant that you’d be on for progression ( thats even if you did progress castle nathria ) you’d be behind in renown/soulbind upgrades, dont lie now
Yes. Multiple covenant abilities for the same spec.
But this problem also occured for playing multispecs. And i just wanted to not say “i play brewmaster these 2 weeks”. I wanted to go to windwalker or mistweaver freely. Which means i got 2 max level monks. Same for paladin. I tried to level a 3rd paladin, but that didn’t make it to max level. Covenant system was just way too restrictive and unfun.
You are allowed to disagree of course. But this was the situation.
lil homie I don’t think you understand what the term hard locked means. Didn’t really take that much time to get caught up, about 2 weeks to have each one back to similar levels, except for conduits which I think was the only bad part of the system.
Regardless you were free to switch them whenever you wanted. If you didn’t switch even though you wanted to due to “viability” that’s called a choice. If you chose to do things that make you unhappy because you need to be “competitive” I don’t understand that.
