Hello Blizzard i truly hope i will be able to reach you here.
I’ve - so far - purchased two months of subs to audible because you and streamers(like Bellular) have been advertising it - Bellular specificly on audible.
So i went to google, i searched and i found it on audible. Created an account, logged in and paid for a months sub.
As soon as i had done that it changed from audible dot com to audible dot co dot uk(i’m from Denmark) and the book was then nowhere to be seen. It didnt show up in searches, no info about it from you guys or audible AT ALL.
Bellulars info was wrong and soon after he stopped advertising it as available in EU aswell(i tried contacting him but got no response).
I feel scammed. Like really. I’ve kept the sub another month in the hopes that it was simply delayed a little in EU(i mean come on its 2020 - how much can it be delayed in this global society) but no - still absolutely 0 info from anyone.
I’m just so dissapointed in this - not only because it has cost me a little money. Thats not a big issue for me. But i’m REALLY dissapointed in the lack of information and feedback from Audible, Bellular and you - Blizzard.
I hope this reaches someone who is able to spread this information to more people so they dont make the same mistake i did.
“Bellular” is not an official Blizzard employee. He may have been sponsored as a Streamer/Influencer by Audible (Amazon Inc) as I see they have it also stocked on both UK/COM sites and therefore decided to advertise a bit there.
Edit2: After checking through several tweets I’ve confirmed that he’s infact, sponsored to give links by Audible and you’re blaming Blizzard when they’re not relevant to this case. https://twitter.com/ulvarart/status/1283024407393382401
It seems primarily a thing between you and getting a refund at Audible and perhaps Bellular not clearly displaying that he is sponsored by Audible which may be required for such deals to prevent confusion regarding marketing deals.
Oh I see. My only experience of streamers is seeing an increasing amount in LFG who demand people follow them in return for running people’s keys… of course I report it as an advertisment, but I do wish Blizz wouldn’t encourage them.
No this is not true. I clearly stated that Bellular was the person giving out the wrong info. I also never stated that he was working for blizzard.
That doesnt mean i cant be dissapointed with all of them. There is 0 news from blizzard regarding Rising Shadows as a audiobook in the EU. By the way, you seem to think this is about the book, its not, its about the audiobook - which is why i’,m talking about audible and not amazon/someothervendor. I sadly dont have time atm to read a book but i have 2 full hours of cykling every single day where i can listen to one.
I am dissapointed in Bellular for false advertising, Audible for lack of information and not presenting me with the fact that Shadows rising wasnt available in the EU prior to me subscribing to them(it didnt say it was only available in the US when i simply searched for it and audible) and Blizzard for letting these bad practises happen(for a while now) along with not coming out with any information as to when they are available.
The linked shop from Random Penguin House also has Audio offers from other partners, some comes free with the purchase of the hardcover though it seems to be priced in USD hmm.
Other people are free to take up sponsorships from 3rd parties, they are not the responsibility of Blizzard at all. Hence me making the comment of, Bellular is not a Blizzardian thus he is not an official source of news, etc.
Edit3: I’ve found that the Play Store from Google and Kobo has the €U Shadow Rising audiobooks though.
That is actually excellent help. I was under the impression some sort of… distribution right of the audiobook had been given to audible. Since i have an iphone i’l check out the kobo thing
