Trying to get a macro to work that lets me step and sap instantly.
This is what I have so far
#showtooltip Shadowstep
/castsequence reset=20 Shadowstep, Sap
Been searching a lot, but I can’t find a functioning macro.
You click shadowstep
Then Sap
Idk, not sure if you can
I wish to combine it though
I know you can do shadowstep+kick, so I don’t see why this wouldn’t be possible
the macro works fine. make sure you’re in stealth or dance and do it on something that can actually be sapped.
What happens when you press the standard step kick macro is that it attempts to step, and to kick, since both can be used together without a shared CD. But if you’re far from the target it tries to step and to kick. It can step, so it does use step. But it can’t kick because you were away. It could NOW if you pressed again since step has been used and you’re now in melee but when you pressed you were far so the kick instruction wasn’t applicable.
It works the same between Sap and step because step is off GCD. I just checked my macros to be sure. So you can do something as simple as :
#showtooltip Shadowstep
/cast Shadowstep
/cast Sap
Mine has focus baked in but it’s the same otherwise. Basically with that if you’re away and have step you press it steps you press again it saps. You’re in melee without step it saps with one press. You’re in melee with step it still steps but also saps, both in one press. So, it’s not really instant as you need to press twice, so you’re only limited by how fast you can press twice.

it’s better to do a castsequence for step macros because sub has 2 steps and if you spam a macro like that you can accidentally use both. but yes if you’re assa it doesn’t matter.
also if you write shadowstep, sap in a castsequence the next third press will try to cast step again because you reached the end of the sequence so it restarts. i only have step kick and step kidney, and there you can get around it by writing shadowstep, kidney shot, kidney shot. not sure what to do for sap though.
