At lvl 10 Shamans get a quest to get their Fire totems.
Is that quest also available at the Shaman trainer in Stormwind? Or do we HAVE to do it in the Dreanei starting zone?
I do not know about shamans but back in TBC Draenei Paladin’s resurrection quest was only available in the Draenei starting zone. I remember because I knew back then a player who started playing as Draenei Paladin but she didn’t have resurrection because she moves to the human’s area before level 10, until I told her to go back to their starting zone to pick the class quest.

You’re right I’ve found out by now. All class quests are in a specific race area it seems.
I suppose I’ll have to stay in the Dreanei starting zone then untill lvl 10 and after having done the class quest 
Seeing as the quest takes place in Azuremyst Isle. I don’t see how it really matter if you can pick it up in Stormwind or not. I think you get it only at azure watch tho.
Totems aren’t that important early on though. If the starting zone is unbearable to quest in, just come back later. I’ll probably wait until 30+ myself and get all the totems in one go
I have a feeling it will be, about the totem quest, the low level earth one is only in Ammen Vale so I assume the level 10 one is on the islands too. Still going back at 10 isn’t so bad.
I may level in another zone too, depending on how the starter area is. I think the only trainer outside the Isles is sat outside Stormwind
Ironforge has a trainer as well.
