Shaman - Dwarf or Troll?

Hello.

Starting a Shaman and cant decide between Troll or Dwarf.

If strictly focusing on racials between the two, which is then the best:

Troll racials or Dwarf racials?

Any tips appreciated.

Just play whatever you like. Racials don’t give you that much advantage as you think.

^ agreed on top. Racial elitism is what the game killed for me. Its only beneficial for Mythic Raiding and that content is too hardcore for its audience in a way that it is not fun for its majority.

So play what you like and enjoy your character as you go.

I’ve got a dark iron shaman and a dranei shaman. My dark iron suits the elemental class my draenei suits enhancement I love them both racials don’t really matter on either just play what you like.

Actually, you can do mythic raiding fine with every race. Racials are important only if you are going for world first or rank 1 in pvp.

For ele dwarf racials > troll racials. But like others have already said just go with what you like more aesthetically.

If Alliance had a race with troll animations I would race change instantly

Well, what kind of Troll and what kind of Dwarf?

Darkspear Troll?

• Lanky and tribal
• Great mohawks
• Tusks and voodoo
• Houdoken casting animations
• Brilliant mini-Bloodlust racial on top of having Bloodlust as well.

Zandalari Troll?

• Less hunched and less “restricted” by usual Horde physical aspects when transmogging
• Funky feet
• Regal yet entuned with the elements
• Selection of Racial options from on-hit vamp, crit proc, bleeds or even extra healing if you are a Resto Shaman
• Very shamanistic heritage armour set
• Dinosaurs

Ironforge Dwarf?

• Is a Dwarf
• Has Ironforge and Dun Morough to relax in as a local
• Bushy beards
• Stout and awesome
• Great casting animations
• Decent heritage armour
• Great defensive racials when ghost wolfing to immortality just isnt enough

Dark Iron Dwarf?

• Is a Dwarf
• FIRE AND RAGNAROS!
• One of the Alliances best (out of the few they have) offensive Racials in the game
• Fiery beards
• Anger and Tatoos

If you’re looking for advantage, there is none. All racials are more or less equal, maybe apart from allied races which might be a little bit overtuned which is how they should be.

Just read both their racials and choose the one you think is more fun.

That’s not really true though… If you’re looking at pure DPS advantage some races have a pure dmg boost, while others don’t.

Others have racials more useful for PvP while some are almost useless in PvP.

The Horde side have had “better” racials for many, many years which is why almost every serious* raiding guild is Horde.

*I mean those who care about every single advantage they can get. They’d rather join the faction where their dps can get mini-bloodlusts or attack power boosts instead of the one that allows them to break stuns or kind of vanish.
