I want to reroll on shaman in Shadowlands as ele and restro. I know that in every forum are guys who says the class is ruined and unplayable but especially here I hear a lot of hate for the changes. Maybe some players with beta access can share their thoughts about shaman in SL. I know every class is viable till high end content but why set urself in bad conditions. I mostly play pve so pvp is not the point in my class choice
there are plenty of videos and discussions regarding the shaman. I am mainly interested in Enh, but watched about Ele too. They basically got reverted back to BfA state, got massively buffed (cause they were very undertuned). Rotation feels boring on ptr-prepatch in my opinion. It’s mostly LS spam with ocasional lava bursts into earth shock or quake. AoE rotation is even worse, it’s just CL spam into earth shock. But people are generally okay with everything being reverted back, so I dunno.

On the ptr i saw some changes like ( I don’t know if it’s new but I thought only heal shamans had it) spirit walkers grace. Maybe they will do more changes
SWG is baseline, I believe.
SWG is resto only in BFA. If Ele shamans get access to it it’s gonna be fun as hell.

Ele doesn’t play much different than in bfa now, just feels less overcapped with maelstrom if something procs back to back. Didn’t test aoe though.
Without igenous potential feels like lava burst procs are not enough.
On beta the dmg profile changed btw to Lava burst as no.1 dmg source but this might be object to change
Its more like players are dissapointed rather then resto being unviable i think.
On ele i heard very good feedback… seems strong so far but too soon to verdict since blizzard tend to nerf strong specs from prepatch.
Feels strong… maybe looks but definitely nobody’s feeling it.
- Enhancement is at the 24 / 24 position of DPS - both in Single Target and AOE in Shadowlands atm.
- Elemental is 23 / 24 on Single target and 21 / 24 on AOE.
In other hands Resto Shaman looks topping a healing chart 1/6 both for Single target and AOE. Guess who’s playing Resto Shaman.
At this very moment DPS specs of Shamans are 2 of 4 classes where their DPS is lower then the worst healer’s HPS.

I saw some m+ beta streams and the ele dmg is really good when u don’t pull only 2 mobs
Are these dps sims with legendarys equipped?
Can’t tell. From wowmeta: We do not have access to Simulationcraft for Shadowlands (yet), so this data is based entirely on Raid Logs from last week’s Raid Testing of Castle Nathria on Shadowlands Beta.
I guess it’s not but who care’s about legendaries when the base is broken. Nobody cares that with a top gear we all be equal. The time of getting this gear is most important because this is 99% of the game time and Blizzard is missing that.
