Use the forum tools and look up Shaman Tank posts. In them you can see many, many, many reasons why its a bad idea.

And you came here to still spam about this subject. Let me TLDR you really quick:
You cannot get SoD, which is literally a game that requires you to press 3 buttons and port that into Retail. You cannot “fit” a shaman tank inside a 60 point talent tree that is shared with 3 other specs. With out major reform. A reform that would almost at 100% guarantee change the gameplay of the existing 3 specs. As we know them in Retail.
And its even worse if you consider that a dungeon/raid pool that is night and day compared to Classic. You need a vastly different toolkit to tackle the PvE content in Retail vs Classic. So the fact that shaman tanks exist in SoD dosent mean it can fit in Retail.
Besides. An SoD ShamanTank is just a budget version of a BM Monk…
Ye i really hope so. It’d be nice if blizzard did a Q&A at some point explaining their view on the tank situation, why the few options etc

Who do they think they are? First, they add Shaman tanks in Season of Discovery. Then they tease us with Shaman Tank in the campaign like it’s some joke. And yet… no real Shaman Tank for retail? Blizz, count your days.
That spec better be cooking behind the scenes for midnight, because if not? Me and Shamantank are grabbing our totems and heading straight to riot. (Others are welcome to join us.)

Like many other posts about new classes (Tinker class for example)… Fantasy and gameplay go hand in hand.
You might have an argument “fantasy wise”. I wont deny that an earth tank sounds really cool. However, what would that class do exactly?
Because if its too similar to an existing class. Or all it can provide is a mix-mash of existing specs… it provides nothing new. Its just a re-colour of an existing class. A mog basically.
ALL Shaman Tank suggestions have been exactly that. A rip-off of an existing class. So it fails gameplaywise. Even though, fantasy wise is a big W.

That is litearlly a cheap copy of a BM Monk. And they did it because Monks dont exist in SoD. Same as Warlock tanks. They are a cheap ripoff of DH tanks (deamon form included). And they could do that because DHs dont exist.
And that is the reason why Shaman tanks dont exist. Because every time Blizzard had the chance to implement it, it quickly understood that is easier, faster, more stable, and profitable to simply make a new class all toguether.
And hence, we got Monks, DKs, and DHs. And not Shaman tanks. THAT is the reason they dont exist. And they will never exist: Gameplay. A big L.

using various damage reduction totems and more focus on different shields maybe but that sounds like a different spin on enhancement now i think about it. i dunno its blizzards job to come up with the specifics. tbh if i were to add a new tank i redesign aug into one.

Oh and maybe then can make one of the defensives be the shaman just jumps ontop of his earth elemental!
Same could go with warlocks, they just jump ontop of thier void walker and start riding it around.
let battle pets take role in fights, be part of the group when wanted, let them take all roles including tanks, thanks
trust me you cannot convince that person of anything, he is 40+ with small children at home but decides to bicker with and be rude to strangers on forums about different opinions on video games, he’s a lost cause
